Here's a quick question for robert (I won't use the name "bob" because I feel no familiarity with this jerk) filner, former Democrat congressperson and current Mayor of San Diego:

How many women have to come forward with how many specific examples of what a lecherous pig you are, before you disappear?

For anyone not familiar with filner's major - and still growing - scandal (let's just say that he starts where anthony weiner leaves off), just click here:   it will bring you right up to speed.

My commendation to the many members of filner's Democrat Party, who have joined the tidal wave of people demanding filner's resignation...and my disgust with those, such as the execrable Nancy Pelosi, who are, so far at least, determined to look the other way.  When Pelosi eventually tells him to take a hike, (which I expect she will very shortly) who in their right mind will believe it is anything but an insincere political calculation?

I would think that if filner does resign - and I don't see a way he can possibly avoid it - the city of San Diego and most Democrats, will join just about any woman who came in contact with this pig, in breathing a collective sigh of relief.

Today's Quote Of The Day winner is none other than the President of the United States, Barack Obama.

Here is what Mr. Obama said, during his hour-plus speech at Knox College in Illinois yesterday - which, for the most part, was a compilation of promise after promise he has extended, but not made good on, since taking office:

"It's interesting, in the run-up to this speech, a lot of reporters say that, well, Mr. President, these are all good ideas, but some of you've said before; some of them sound great, but you can't get those through Congress. Republicans wont agree with you"

Amazing.  Not only do we have the 37,823rd time (approximately) that Barack Obama has blamed his failures on Republicans - who, if you buy what he is selling, managed to stifle him while controlling neither house of congress for Mr. Obama's first two years, and never holding the Senate for even one day of his administratoin.  And, if that were not enough, we now "know" (this requires believing what Mr. Obama says, which is a truly risky undertaking),  that reporters are falling all over themselves to tell him how great his agenda is.

Media bias, anyone?

You have to give Barack Obama some kind of recognition for this latest installment of  his 4 1/2 year whine that it is all somebody else's fault.  Tenacity like that must not go unrewarded.  Add in his claim that reporters think his agenda is the bees knees, and the decision is clear.

Congratulations, Mr. President.  Quote Of The Day honors are yours.

I just read this, and cannot believe my eyes.

Because of its brevity, I will post Nathan Harden's entire blog from  Prepare to be appalled:

President Obama was bound to receive a warm response from the audience attending his speech at the University of Central Missouri yesterday - because some students who disagreed with him weren't allowed into the building.

Christopher White of The College Fix reports that students wearing "Tea Party T-Shirts and others who wore patriotic or Republican-inspired clothing" were turned away at the door under the guise of security concerns, despite the fact that they held tickets to the event.

I'd like to offer a helpful tip to all College Republicans who hope to attend an Obama speech in the future: Odds of admission improve if you wear a Che Guevara t-shirt, an "I Heart Kim Jong Un" campaign button, and/or a ballcap displaying the slogan "Obama Girl" prominently above the brim.

If this is true - and I do not have a reason to doubt it - we are dealing with a sick man and a sick administration.

Isn't this what the IRS - and I do not mean a couple of rogue agents in Cincinnati - did to the same people last year ( last Presidential election year) on their tax-exempt status - a status that left wing 501(C)3 organizations like had no problem acquiring?

Who gives Barack Obama or his acolytes the right to censor the audience to his speeches?  Who gives them the right to eliminate people who might disagree with him?  What country are we living in?

Who the HELL does this man think he is?  The reincarnation of hugo chavez?

And will his Accomplice Media - every bit as shameful as the goons who carried out these orders - bother to report this information?  Will I see a story about it on the Today show tomorrow morning?  On Good Morning America?  On CBS This Morning?

How far are they willing to go for Barack Obama?  Do they give a damn about freedom - i.e. the freedom we had in the pre-Obama era?  Will they be as tolerant of such quasi-fascist behavior if the next President is a Republican - as if I didn't already know the answer?

More on this tomorrow.

UPDATE:  It is Friday morning, about 8:30AM eastern time.  The Today show has not reported this story, nor is it in the New York Times - not even a little squib on it.  And a quick google search (the first two pages) does not find it on any other media either.

Therefore the millions of people who rely on one or both of those venues for their news, do not know it ever happened.

Before someone goes after me on this, let me say that I understand people who make their opposition to a President overtly clear sometimes are denied the opportunity to get close to him.  But a) we are not talking about fringe groups - even though some on the left might think of them that way - we are talking about mainstream people, and b) none of them was offered entry if they removed any overt message of political opposition, they were just flat-out told to get lost, and to stay several hundred yards away.

This, from the same administration which is clearly neck-deep in the IRS scandal....which most mainstream media only grudgingly reported, and then dropped as quickly as it could - despite the obvious gravity of the scandal and its effect on free speech.

Anyone detect a pattern here?

free' Ken, Thanks for checking the comments. As to this post I have to admit I surrendered to the IRS. I stopped donating to politicians. My first donation to a politician was in 2008. I got audited in 09 & '10. You may say that's not so odd, but I am disabled and having been filing my taxes using a professional tax company, the exact same way for about 25 years and had never been audited before. BTW I haven't been audited since I stopped donating. I hope my posting this doesn't mean another audit. (07/26/13)

Ken Berwitz testing to see if comments can be put up for this blog entry. There are problems with several other ones, which I hope to have remedied tomorrow. (07/25/13)

This is non-political and, frankly, silly.  But I can't resist.

From Angela Sparkman's article for WYMT-TV, a CBS affiliate in Kentucky:

Employees at a Middlesboro gas station say a customer put a skunk in the bathroom!

Police arrested the man accused of doing it, 35-year-old Kevin Kibert, and charged him with criminal mischief.

"When he came out of the restroom, he looked at another employee and said, 'I'm sorry man.' My employee went to see what he was sorry about and Kevin had evidently left a baby skunk in the restroom," said store manager Pamela Hobbs.

Police arrested Kevin Kibert last week on the criminal mischief charge. He is in the Bell County Detention Center.

In a jailhouse interview, Kibert denies he did it.

"I turned around and walked back out. I wasn't in there two seconds," Kibert said.

Kibert admits he had an argument with an employee a few days earlier.

"That wasn't how I get even. I'm not gonna grab no skunk, you know what I'm saying. I ain't gonna grab no skunk," Kibert said.

Maybe it's just me, but I can't help thinking that putting a skunk in a rural gas station/food mart bathroom not only is unlikely to worsen things, but quite possibly might improve the aroma.

Any thoughts you have on this matter will probably not be appreciated.  But feel free......

How bad has the media bias in this country gotten?

Well, according to Scott Whitlock of, and the bean-counters at Media Research Institute, in the last three days, the CBS, NBC and ABC morning shows devoted 187 minutes of coverage to the newborn baby of Kate and William over in London......compared to a total of 157 minutes for the entire span of the IRS scandal, covering 74 days/two and a half months.

And as bad as that may seem, it is even worse.  As Scott points out:

...none of the broadcast network morning shows has even mentioned the IRS scandal since June 28. New developments, such as the IRS snooping into 2010 Tea Party candidate Christine O'Donnell's tax records (and the mysterious destruction of the related computer records) have gone unnoticed, as have revelation that IRS employees were ordered by superiors to send data on the Tea Party to then-chief counsel (and Obama appointee) William Wilkins...

To summarize: there is a major scandal here.  It goes straight to a key Obama appointee in the IRS, and quite probably higher than that.  But neither Today, nor Good Morning America, nor CBS This Morning, have even bothered to cover it for almost a month...and barely did so before then.

I'm sure the Obama administration offers them its undying gratitude for keeping their audiences in "keep 'em ignorant, and you own 'em" mode.  Because it is what enables the administration to say things like "phony scandal" or "so-called scandal' without them being any the wiser.

Media bias?  Naaaahhhhh.

Yesterday I laughed (maybe along with you) at the remarkable obtuseness of CNN Worldwide President Jeff Zucker, as he implied - unsuccessfully unless you happen to be as leftward as he is - that, although CNN did not have quite enough conservative representation in the past, it is much more circumspect and two-sided now

For the benefit of Mr. Zucker, and anyone who might believe what he said, I would like to post two quotes - both of which I pulled from Mike Bates' blog at  Each was made by CNN on-air "talent" within 24 hours after President Obama, and his various acolytes, started floating the terms "phony scandals and "so-called scandals" in reference to the very real scandals which permeate his administration.  Please pay special attention to parts I have put in bold print.

First we have CNN's Brooke Baldwin:

"Since the president's re-election we have had Sandy Hook and his failed push for gun control. We have had so-called scandals. We've had the push for immigration reform, crises overseas. So you might be asking where did the economy go as an issue? It's the be all and end all, right?"

Then there is CNN's John Berman:

"Tracy, let me start with you. Say she does run -- hypothetically, of course, Hillary Clinton running, hypothetically. She's got a lot of experience, she's been in the public sphere for a long, long time. But there are a lot of things, these scandals, so-called scandals that go back a long, long time. All the way from Whitewater to Benghazi. Will she have to address this?"

There you go.  President Obama gives his marching orders, and CNN's good little soldiers immediately fall behind in lock-step.

A little something for you to think about regarding CNN's so-called neutrality, Mr. Zucker.

Maybe, just maybe, you ought to consider a reassessment....

As Secretary of State John Kerry wastes precious time begging Palestinian Arabs to come to a peace table they have no interest in coming to, instead of using it to deal with Syria, or Egypt, or Iraq, or Afghanistan, or Libya.....

.....we have this, excerpted from Gil Ronen's article for

As western leaders push for negotiations between Israel and the Palestinian Authority, urging Israeli concessions - including the release of convicted terrorists - the PA leadership is continuing in its longstanding tradition of honoring terrorists who murdered Israeli civilians, report Itamar Marcus and Nan Jacques Zilberdik of Palestinian Media Watch.

PMW points to a picture that appeared on an official Fatah Facebook page, glorifying five of the suicide bombings for which Barghouti prepared explosives, which killed 61 "Zionists."

The graphic was posted by the administrator of the official Facebook page of the Enlistment and Organization Commission of Fatah. Terrorist Barghouti was honored as the "brave prisoner" and his attacks as "self-sacrificing activity" and "Martyrdom-seeking operations."

"Martyrdom-seeking operations" is the Palestinian euphemism for suicide bombings.

Barghouti is serving 67 life sentences for preparing explosives for terror attacks in which 67 people were murdered - Sbarro restaurant (15 killed, Aug. 9, 2001), Sheffield Club (15 killed, May 7, 2002), Moment Caf (11 killed, March 9, 2002), triple attack at Ben Yehuda pedestrian mall (11 killed, Dec. 1, 2001), Hebrew University (9 killed, July 1, 2002), and Bus 4 in Tel Aviv (6 killed, Sept. 19, 2002).

Does that in any way, shape, manner or form suggest that Palestinian Arabs have the slightest interest in making peace with Israel?

And remember, the PA - at least ostensibly - is not hamas.  It is the "fatah" faction; the supposed "moderates".  Does that look moderate to you?

These are the people the world demands Israel make peace with.

Ken Berwitz Free - funny! In a gritted.teeth way... (07/25/13)

free` Ken asks; "These are the people the world demands Israel make peace with. How? ------------------------- Ken, I think I have figured how. in 2016 Obama won't be the POTUS, the Israelis could elect him to ruin oops I mean run there country. See Problem solved. Of course there won't be an Israel or a Jew left in the region, but there will be peace. That is if you consider peace to be muslims killing muslims, which must be ok, because the msm doesn't report much on that. (07/25/13)
