SEQUESTER WATCH

Ken Berwitz

It is over two and a half months into the sequester.

Do you feel any different?  Do you think anything has changed?  Do you think the country has gone to hell in a handbasket?

No?  Me neither - at least not for anything related to the sequester.

So isn't it heart-warming that, while school children and tourists still cannot get white house tours, President Obama can somehow scrape up the money for yet another celebrity-fest at the White House?

Excerpted from Caroline May's article at dailycaller.com:

Amid sequester and scandal in Washington, the White House announced Friday that the president and first lady will be hosting another concert as part of their "In Performance at the White House" series later this month.

The event will be held in the East Room of the White House and honor singer and songwriter Carole King, who will be awarded the 2013 Library of Congress Gershwin Prize for Popular Song. King will be the first woman to receive the award, the White House noted in their announcement.

The program - to be streamed on the White House website and broadcast on PBS stations the evening of May 28 - will also feature performances by Gloria Estefan, Billy Joel, Jesse McCartney, Emeli Sande, James Taylor, Trisha Yearwood and King herself.

In 2002, Carole King sang "You've Got a Friend" for Cuban dictator Fidel Castro at a warming-relations dinner in Havana.

Wonderful.  What an excellent use of what we are told, however fraudulently, are our limited resources.

What does this tell you?  It tells you that, despite the doomsday warnings from Obama & Co. about the sequester collapsing our world, money can always be "found" for President Obama's personal amusement, so he can sit in the front row, like an anorexic version of Jabba the Hutt, while entertainment luminaries fawn over him for all those cameras.

And he is still trying to sell you on the premise that the sequester which he - not Republicans, but he - insisted be put in place, has brought our economy to the brink of disaster.

Think of it as a test to see just how dumb, and/or how unconditionally committed to Obama & Co., you are.

Are you?

Ken Berwitz free - The fact that King serenaded castro is why I added that last paragraph. I wanted people to know who the "sequester-free" $$$ is paying for. (05/17/13)

free' Ken, I think I may be more upset by the person they are honoring. Another leftist socialist loving commie. From the last sentence of the report. "In 2002, Carole King sang You've Got a Friend for Cuban dictator Fidel Castro at a warming-relations dinner in Havana." (05/17/13)

THE LIE-RS SCANDAL: DEEPER AND DEEPER

Ken Berwitz

The Lie-RS scandal continues to grow.

Yesterday, writing in a USA Today op-ed page BS-a-thon, Steven Miller (the outgoing head of IRS, whose resignation President Obama made a big deal of accepting - without telling us that his term at IRS was ending anyway) tries to explain away the obvious targeting of conservative groups seeking tax exempt status.

Miller claims that it was an inadvertent "mistake". which occurred only because there was a huge increase in the number of applications for 501(c)3 and 501(c)4 status.  (Why that "mistake" occurred for only one side of the political aisle, remains unexplained).

This, of course, is a lie.

Investors Business Daily shows us how completely bogus Miller's BS is in its excellent editorial from yesterday's edition.  Here is a key excerpt (bold print is mine):

A review of application data by the Chronicle of Philanthropy found that when the IRS imposed its "tea party" rule in March 2010, tax-exempt applications had been on the decline - going from 1,751 in fiscal year 2009 to 1,735 in fiscal year 2010, which ended Sept. 30, 2010.

The number did climb over the next two years, but only after the IRS already had put a hold on hundreds of conservative applications.

USA Today reported this week that after February 2010, the IRS didn't approve a single Tea Party tax-exempt application until spring 2012, although it approved dozens of comparable applications from liberal groups.

This shows Steven Miller to be a pathetic liar, desperately trying to cover his own butt, and the Barack Obama Chicago thugocracy's collective butts as well.

Oh, wait.  I'm sorry.  I forgot.  This has nothing to do with Barack Obama.  Mr. Obama - the prime beneficiary of the Lie-RS's hugo-chavezian behavior on his behalf - didn't know a thing about it, did he?  After all, he said so, right?

Besides, didn't President Obama angrily denounce the Lie-RS actions which benefitted him so greatly throughout the 2012 election cycle, and sternly tell us he will act decisively against the people who perpetrated these terrible deeds?

Just like he told us he would act decisively against the video tape guy, er spontaneous protesters, er, terrorists who perpetrated last year's Benghazi massacre?  And we all know how that has turned out.

How could we have re-elected this man to four more years in the White House?  What have we done to ourselves?

free' At least this explains why we didn't hear much from the tea party in the 2012 election. After the 2010 elections I couldn't figure out why they were so quiet during 2011. I guess after the beating the D's took in 2010 they had to figure out how to muzzle the TP. And they did. (05/17/13)

THE QUOTE OF THE DAY

Ken Berwitz

Jay Carney is on a streak.

Carney already is - at least in my mind - the most overtly dishonest press secretary in presidential history.  And it seems like every day he breaks the record he already holds with even more BS than he's already barfed out at the press corps - which, despite its own credibility problems, increasingly seems to be viewing him as a combination of Baghdad Bob and Joe Isuzu....with some vintage W. C. Fields thrown in for good measure.

His latest - and our Quote Of The Day winner?  Speaking of the Benghazi scandal, the Associated Press scandal and the Lie-RS Scandal, Carney says:

"I dismiss the premise, the idea that these are scandals"

Yep, right.  Thanks Jay.  Great credibility booster there.

But do remember those words:  They very well may wind up as the epitaph for this woefully dishonest, abusive, damaging administration.

At the very least, they cop Quote Of The Day recognition.

Well done, Mr. Carney.  You truly have learned a lot from your master.

GUESS WHO'S RUNNING OBAMACARE?

Ken Berwitz

Sarah Hall Ingram.  That's a name you will be hearing a lot of in the next few days.

The reason?  From 2009 to 2012, Ingram was the IRS person in charge of overseeing tax-exempt organizations.  That is the period when blatantly discriminatory procedures were used against groups with "Tea Party", "Patriot" and the like in their names...and when similar procedures were used for groups which appeared to be supportive of Israel.

This made President Obama so angry that he announced that he had accepted the resignation of Steven Miller, the acting head of the IRS --- uh, effective the same day Miller's term was ending anyway (Chicago machine politics, anyone?)

But back to Sarah Hall Ingram.  What do you suppose she is doing these days?

She is Director of the IRS Affordable Care Act office.  That's right.  She is the IRS person in charge of running ObamaCare.  Which is flat-out nuts.

Based on the disgraceful, out of control, vindictive, hugo chavezian way Ingram ran the tax exempt part of IRS, she has no business running anything else there.let alone ObamaCare.  She should be fired today.

But will President Obama, who made such a big dog and pony show of accepting the resignation of someone who a) was not there for most of the rogue IRS activities and b) in any event, was leaving anyway, demand the resignation or removal of Sarah Hall Ingram, the person who actually oversaw what he claimed to be so angry about?

This time he can't insult our intelligence by pleading ignorance, can he?

I'll give Mr. Obama a couple of days to remove Sarah Hall Ingram (it shouldn't even take that long).  And if he does not, I  - and, I suspect, a great many others - will have plenty to say about it.

Zeke ..... ..... ..... Not to worry .... no IRS hassle here --- If you are a TEA Party member .... or a Republican .... No Health Care for You ..... ( No Soup for You, either) ..... ...... .... (05/17/13)

THE PAPER CHASE

Ken Berwitz

As most people outside of Hollywood are aware, hugo chavez left Venezuela - an oil rich country which should be swimming in revenues - as a borderline economic basket case.

Bad enough that so many staples are in such short supply.  But toilet paper?  That's enough to wipe out the current government -- which probaby didn't win the post-chavez election anyway, since the margin was paper-thin and they were the ones in charge of the ballot boxes.

According to the Associated Press report (which probably means President Obama was chortling over the problem before we ever read about it), current President Nicholas Maduro is blaming the shortage on "anti-government forces".  Mr. Maduro did not make clear whether he was accusing those forces of hoarding toilet paper, or excessive wiping.

But not to worry.  Mr. Maduro has announced that the government will immediately import 760,000 tons of food, and 50 million rolls of toilet paper.

Great Scott, what a Charmin development this is - Maduro giving his constituents such Angel-Soft treatment.  Why, that man is on a roll.

Let me finish by offering my hope that, for the sake of Venezuelan tushies everywhere, the toilet paper arrives about the same time as the food.  I mean, there is something of a cause and effect issue here.

ANOTHER KERMIT GOSNELL FOR MEDIA TO IGNORE

Ken Berwitz

Now that the kermit gosnell trial is over and this mass murdering monster has been sentenced to life imprisonment, mainstream media - the vast majority of which provided virtually no coverage of gosnell's trial - can go back to pretending the murder of newborn babies by late term abortionists does not happen (which, of course, makes the late term abortion industry, and abortionists in general, as happy as can be).

Except that another murdering monster, as bad as, or even worse than, kermit gosnell, has been found.

Excerpted from Steven Ertelt's article at lifenews.com (a pro-life organization -- who did you expect to cover this, mainstream media?  You're kidding, right?):

The Lt. Governor of Texas is today demanding an investigation of an abortion practitioner who is considered the second Kermit Gosnell.

A new video released yesterday has three former abortion clinic employees of abortion practitioner Douglas Karpen exposing horrific practices that took place at his abortion clinic.

The three informants, Deborah Edge, Gigi Aguliar, and Krystal Rodriguez, have come forward to tell of their horrific experiences working for him at one of three of his Texas abortion clinics, the Aaron Womens Clinic in Houston. A fourth informant has co-operated with Operation Rescue, filing an affidavit about her experiences, but remains at this time anonymous.

These women brought forward evidence of illegal late-term abortions in the form of photos taken on their cell phones at the Karpen's clinic on Schumacher Lane in Houston.

The photos were scandalous. They depicted two babies aborted well beyond the legal limit of 24 weeks in Texas. Their necks had been cut.

"The photos show babies that are huge, with gashes in their necks, indicating that these babies were likely born alive, then killed, just as Kermit Gosnell did at his 'House of Horrors' clinic in Philadelphia," said Troy Newman, President of Operation Rescue. "In fact, there are numerous similarities between Karpen and the Gosnell case, including the disregarding of complaints by the authorities that allowed both men to continue their illegal operations."

"When he did an abortion, especially an over 20 week abortion, most of the time the fetus would come completely out before he cut the spinal cord or he introduced one of the instruments into the soft spot of the fetus, in order to kill the fetus," said Deborah Edge, who worked as a surgical assistant for Karpen for about 15 years until leaving in March, 2011.

"I thought, well, it's an abortion you know, that's what he does, but I wasn't aware that it was illegal...Most of the time we would see him where the fetus would come completely out and of course, the fetus would still be alive," Edge continued.

How often did this happen?

"I think every morning I saw several, on several occasions," she said.

If this is true - and there certainly is first-hand testimony to that effect - douglas karpen, like kermit gosnell, is a sick, mass-murdering monster.  But will you see or hear a word about it from the national news media, broadcast or print?

Well, have you seen or heard a word of it yet?

If the journalistic disgrace we saw regarding kermit gosnell (and the other "doctors" killing babies the same way, exposed in a series of undercover videos created by liveaction.org) is any indication, there will be no coverage of douglas karpen, any more than there was of gosnell.

Why is a "man" accused of the gruesome, sick murders of newborn, out-of-the-womb babies, getting a free media pass?

Because he is an abortionist - therefore a protected species.  That's why.

Is the free pass given because of how many media people have no problem with these procedures?  Is it that they fear angering the far leftists posing as women's groups whom they have nurtured through decades of almost all-positive coverage?  Both?

Is this what mainstream media have been reduced to?  Providing cover for murderers, because the murderers are abortionists, and therefore have untouchable status?

It is beyond sick.

free' Ken, I think it has to do with public opinion about killing babies more than the reasons you give. The public is already against it in most situations and if the people who are for it were to ever hear or read or see pics of what is going on in the baby killing industry, it could mean the end.
