BARACK OBAMA: USEFUL IDIOT?

Ken Berwitz

Can someone who graduated Columbia and Harvard possibly be this dense?  Is it malevolence toward Israel?  Or is he just a useful idiot for Palestinian Arabs?

Following is a sampling of the comments President Barack Obama made in Jerusalem today - in rust.  My reaction to them is in blue.

"Talking to (young Palestinian Arabs), they weren't that different from my daughters, they weren't that different from your daughters or sons".  Fascinating.  Does that mean your daughters want to vaporize Israel and kill every Jew there?  Do you think Israeli children want this to happen?  How come you didn't tell us specifically what those young Palestinian Arabs said to you -- or is that too difficult to make up out of thin air on the spot?

"I honestly believe that if any Israeli parent sat down with these kids, they'd say, 'I want these kids to succeed, I want them to prosper, I want them to have opportunities just like my kids do,'" Very true - provided there is peaceful coexistence.  The problem, of course, is that Palestinian Arabs have never offered any such thing, and certainly are not offering it now, which is why your words are so much empty rhetoric.

"The only way for Israel to endure and thrive as a Jewish and democratic state (is through the creation of an independent Palestine)".  Very true again.  But it takes two to tango.  When have Palestinian Arabs ever been receptive to this?  Why aren't you telling Palestinian Arab audiences that they have to accept and peacefuly coexist with Israel and its Jews?  What do you think would happen if you tried to say it to them while you were in Judea and Samaria (also known as the west bank)?  We both know the answer, don't we?

"Peace is necessary, I believe that. I believe that peace is the only path to true security. You have the opportunity to be the generation that permanently secures the Zionist dream, or you can face a growing challenge to its future," Why do you put the entire onus on Israel?  Is it because you know full well that Palestinian Arabs will not do a thing for peace - based on the fact that they never have?  Your double standard is breathtaking.

"Given the frustration in the international community, Israel must reverse an undertow of isolation. And given the march of technology, the only way to truly protect the Israeli people over the long term is through the absence of war -- because no wall is high enough, and no Iron Dome is strong enough and perfect enough, to stop every enemy that's intent on doing so from inflicting harm." Wow, what a great insight.  I'm sure no Israeli ever thought of that.  No wonder you're such a huge success in foreign policy.  Tell us:  does the sun rise in the east too?  Heck, next thing we know, you'll solve the mystery of who is buried in Grant's Tomb.

"So many young Palestinians have rejected violence. There's an opportunity there. There's a window.  Peace is possible."  WHO?  WHEN?  WHERE?  What the eff are you even talking about?  Do you have video footage of peace marches through Ramallah, or Jericho, or the eastern (mostly Arab) part of Jerusalem by young Palestinian Arabs?  Show us...or admit you are blowing BS straight out of your backside.

(Talking to Palestinian Arab dictator abu abbas - not President, but dictator, because he has not been a legally elected President since 2009):  "The United States is deeply committed to the creation of an independent and sovereign state of Palestine.  Simply, Palestinians deserve a state of their own."  Deserve a state?  DESERVE a state?  For doing what?  Trying to kill Jews?  This may be the single stupidest, most dishonest comment of them all.

"The core issue right now is how do we get sovereignty for the Palestinian people and ensure security for the Israeli people.  If we solve those two problems, the settlement problem will be solved."  Hey, here's a great idea.  How about if Palestinian Arabs commit themselves to peace instead of vaporizing Israel and its Jews.  Does that sound like a plan, Mr. President?

Could this be more dishonest?  More pathetic?  If so, I'd love to know how.

But I have little doubt that most of the Lost Tribers, and most of Mr. Obama's Accomplice Media will lap it up like a hungry cat that finds a saucer of milk.

Is it just me, or do the words "dishonest" and "pathetic" pop right back up again?

HAVE WE EVER SEEN THEM IN THE SAME PLACE? (JUST ASKING)

Ken Berwitz

My sister just sent this to me.  And, though most of the pictures don't show the resemblance, this one sure seems to:

pope-lookalikes-popealikes-woody-allen-pope-francis-i

Ok, I admit it's a long shot.  But who's to say for sure?

Look at it this way.  One of Woody Allen's greatest movies was Hannah and Her Sisters.  A Pope certainly has plenty of sisters around, doesn't he?  Crimes and Misdemeanors could as easily have been Sins and Misdemeanors, right?  And Midnight In Paris?  How many have spent Midnight in a Confessional?

Let's just say that, although this probably goes no further than the fact that there is a facial resemblance....if Pope Francis slips, and starts talking about growing up in Brooklyn, all bets are off.

THE HILLARY STRATEGY

Ken Berwitz

Hillary Clinton has always been against gay marriage.  Until now.

This week, to the delight of many of her supporters (certainly including the segment which will applaud anything she says or does, no matter what it is) Ms. Clinton has reversed field and come out in favor of them.

As Harriet Van Horne used to say, Ms. Clinton's change of heart has all the sincerity of a Christmas card from a bank.

A politico.com article puts it this way...

Hillary Clinton caught bouquets from many liberals for her video this week backing gay marriage, a stance which now enjoys majority support in national polls. She cited how the experience of knowing gay friends caused her to rethink her position. But does anyone really believe that Clintons actual views have changed since the 2008 presidential campaign, when she was against gay marriage, rather than her calculation that the safe position has changed?

...to which I reply...."yep".

But does it matter that, as so often is the case Hillary Clinton is full of what I will charitbly call bull droppings?  To her most avid supporters the answer, of course is no.  But that would be true of anyone's avid supporters, so it is not the problem.

The problem is that she counts among her avid supporters so much of our so-called mainstream media:  you know, the folks who are supposed to report news neutrally and accurately.

These, however, are the same "neutral", "accurate" folks who showered Ms. Clinton with hosannas for pounding her hand on a table during the one and only time she testified about Benghazi (having found excuses not to show up every other time) and emphatically asked "what's the difference" how the murderous attack took place.  If they not only gave her a bye on that behavior but actually sang praises to her testimony, what do you think they will say about her sudden, made-for-votes conversion on gay marriage?

And yes, they are the same "journalists" who squeal like stuck pigs if you call them biased -- which is a little like Tiger Woods squealing like a stuck pig if someone calls him a successful golfer.

THE QUOTE OF THE DAY

Ken Berwitz

Today's quote comes from U.S. Senator John Cornyn (R-TX), who has whimsically (I think) proposed that the people charged with writing President Obama's budget not be paid until they actually produce one.

In his own words:

"For four of the last five years, the president has missed the legal deadline for submitting his budget, and leading from behind has become the standard mode of operation. The American people have been waiting 44 days to hear the president's priorities.  Texans don't expect to get paid for a job they don't do, and it's time to start holding Washington to the same standards. This administration should do its job, meet its obligations, and submit a budget."

Is Mr. Cornyn kidding?  Maybe.

But does he have a point?  Definitely.

See, the idea is that the Republican House of Representatives submits a budget, President Obama and his fellow Democrats tear it apart, their Accomplice Media second the motion.....and there is nothing to criticize Mr. Obama or other Democrats for.

Great game - as long as our wonderful "neutral" media play along, which they do.  Every year.

So thank you, Mr. Cornyn, for your quote.  Whether rhetorical or literal, you have hit the nail on the head.

LUGGAGE PROGRESS REPORT

Ken Berwitz

As you may recall, a few days ago I found some old, but perfectly good luggage in our attic.  And - as I had done successfully with a dishwasher years ago - I put it out at the curb with a securely-taped note, telling the world how much I wanted for the luggage, and an accompanying envelope in which to put the money before taking it away.  The note said:

3 PIECE MATCHED LUGGAGE SET

(THE ONE YOU SEE, WITH A SMALLER PIECE AND A CARRY-ON INSIDE)

$25 (but I'll let you "bargain me down" to $20

Nearly perfect condition (only used a few times).

Just leave the money in the attached envelope, put it in our mailbox, and the luggage is yours.

Why do I trust you to do this? Two reasons:

1) I think (or at least hope) most people are honest;

2) Even if you aren't honest, would it really be worth it for you to cheat me out of $20? I'll take my chances that you wouldn't.

So how have things worked out?

Well, I still have the luggage.  But, so help me, two times now someone has stolen the note.

I don't know whether this shakes my faith in human nature, affirms my hope that I write an interesting sales message, both or neither.  But I think I'll give it one more try - i.e. put the luggage out with another copy of the note - and see what happens.

To be continued....

NIDAL MALIK HASAN: PLEALESS

Ken Berwitz

You cannot make this stuff up.  And if you figure out a way, do me a favor and don't bother.

According to an Associated Press report, nidal malik hasan, the subhuman terrorist-loving scumbag who joined the army as a psychiatrist, then killed 13 of our military and wounded 32 others at Fort Hood Texas:

-Will not be allowed to plead guilty on the 13 counts of premeditated murder, becaus Army rules do not allow a judge to accept a guilty plea on charges which carry the death penalty;

-Will not be allowed to plead guilty to unpremeditated murder, because he could still have been tried on premeditated murder and the guilty plea could be used against him at trial (this is supposed to bother me?)

-Will not be allowed to plead guilty to unpremeditated murder and attempted unpremediated murder, because, in the opinion of judge Colonal Tara Osborn, it would be the "functional equivalent of pleading guilty to a capital offense" which, as noted earlier, is not allowed under Army rules.

In other words, there is no way for this subhuman scumbag to plead guilty, even if he wants to.

If this makes any sense to you, please signify by drooling uncontrollably and howling like an adenoidal coyote.

SEQUESTER WATCH

Ken  Berwitz

It is day 21 of the sequester.

Do you feel any different?  Do you think anything has changed?  Do you think the country has gone to hell in a handbasket?

No?  Me neither.

But now, Democrats, in a desperate effort to make people suffer so they can "prove" the sequester is hurting us, have taken to literally voting in favor of doing so.

Yesterday, a bill was floated by Senator Tom Coburn (R-OK) to re-open the White House tours and other important, even iconic, activities, by simply allocating less essential money from other less significant sources.  The bill was defeated in a straight-party vote, with every Democrat voting no.

Excerpted from Lisa Mascaro's article in the (usually Obama and Democrat-friendly) Los Angeles Times:

Senators voted 45 to 54 on the measure from Republican Sen. Tom Coburn of Oklahoma, who was seeking to reshuffle the sequester cuts to bring back the White House tours and also prevent closures at Yellowstone and other national parks that have been hit by the budget reductions.

The Coburn amendment, which needed 60 votes to pass, would have shifted $6 million from the National Heritage Areas programs. But senators said those programs, scattered across many states - including an Elvis Music Boat tour in Georgia and Friday night community concerts at a Delaware winery - relied on the federal aid.

President Obama and his fellow Democrats desperately need a crisis to "prove" what horrible consequences would come down on us if there were forced cuts in our impossibly bloated deficit spending.  And, by God, they is going to come up with one, even if they have to create the crisis out of thin air - while hoping you are "low information" enough to be convinced it is real.

And in the absence of any such real crisis, they have now decided it would be a good idea to just vote them into existence - like, for example, keeping Elvis fans, and winery buffs entertained instead of keeping the White House and national parks open to the public.

Think of it as a test to see just how dumb, and/or how unconditionally committed to Obama & Co., you are.

Another installment of sequester watch tomorrow.
