It is day 19 of the sequester.

Do you feel any different?  Do you think anything has changed?  Do you think the country has gone to hell in a handbasket?

No?  Me neither.

But that did not stop the absolutely despicable vomit bag, Senator harry reid (D-NV), from trying to exploit the tragic deaths of 7 marines during a training exercise, by suggesting the sequester had something to do with it.

As reported by NBC correspondent Jim Miklaszewski today, while speaking to Luke Russert (the bold print is mine):

Luke, you opened that segment with a sound bite from Senate Majority Leader Democrat Harry Reid expressing his condolences. But also during that statement, there was an implication there that under sequestration, when budgets are cut, that we may see more of these that it may put the Marines and others and soldiers at risk because of the budget cuts. Now I can tell you, Marine Corps officials this afternoon are taking a strong exception to what Harry Reid implied, saying that this this exercise, for example, was planned well in advance, had nothing to do with the budget cuts. There were no corners cut. And if they couldn't afford to have all the safety precautions into place, they wouldn't do the exercise. And in fact, one Marine Corps told us just, one Marine Corps official told us a short time ago he considers this nothing but pure political posturing on the backs of these dead marines.

President Obama desperately needs a crisis to "prove" he was right about what horrible consequences would come down on us if there were forced cuts in our impossibly bloated deficit spending.  And, by God, he is going to come up with one, even if he has to create the crisis out of thin air - while hoping you are "low information" enough to be convinced it is real.

But in the absence of any such real crisis, his majority leader, the disgrace on legs called harry reid, is using the deaths of 7 marines to try to sell a lie about what it has caused.

If ever I wished for anything, I wish for it to backfire on this disgusting, sorry excuse for a human being.

Is it too much to ask that President Obama disclaim this sick political garbage and assure the country that sequester had nothing to do with the deaths of these marines?  Sickeningly, I'm betting that it is.  Which, if I'm right, means that Obama is ok with what reid has said.

Another installment of sequester watch tomorrow.

From our pal Public Relations Ann, comes the answer which has eluded most men.

Thanks Ann.  Who would have guessed it was that simple?

Ok, back to politics (speaking of unanswerable mysteries).....

It is not easy to decide which Cabinet pick of President Obama's is the single worst of all.  The competition is fierce.

For instance we can pick from :

-Steven Chu, the energy secretary who has given billions of dollars to "green" companies, almost all fronted by big Democrat donors, which then went under and took all that taxpayer money with them.

-Or "Timmy the tax-cheat" Geithner, our Secretary of the Treasury, who had a nasty habit of not paying his own taxes.

-Or Janet "it's not terrorism, it's man-made disasters" Napolitano at Homeland Security.

-Or Hillary "what's the difference" how the Benghazi massacre happened Clinton at State.

But this time I think Mr. Obama has outdone himself.  He has decided he wants to replace Hilda Solis, the radical leftist Secretary of Labor, with the even more radical  - and a liar to boot - Thomas Perez.

Thomas Perez, who currently heads the Department of Just-Us's Civil Rights Division under the racist abomination eric holder (oh, did I forget to put him on the list?  My bad), is now awaiting confirmation.  And President Obama has asked that the confirmation be a very quick one - no doubt because the more you know about Perez the less you would ever want him near the power of a cabinet position.

Read these excerpts from townhall.com's editor, Katie Pavlich, and get a sense of what we're dealing with here:

When the New Black Panther Party voter intimidation case was dismissed by the Department of Justice, Perez said under oath that senior officials were not involved in the decision to do so and not prosecute Party members for wielding a night stick outside of a Philadelphia polling place in 2008. Last week, a report from the DOJ Inspector General contradicted this claim, proving Perez's testimony was false. In addition, according to a ruling by a judge in a lawsuit about the case last week, Perez's statement that DOJ senior officials weren't involved in dismissing the case contradicts the evidence.

And as usual per Obama administration coverup, nobody important knew anything about the dismissal of the case...meaning Attorney General Eric Holder and President Barack Obama were both involved.

A deputy Attorney General under Barack Obama and eric holder, who lies under oath, to let Black thugs off the hook?  Please, please tell me you are not surprised by this.

If  you would like to read about it in full detail, click here and you will see judicialwatch.com's full report.

But there's more.  Much more.  Judicial watch characterizes Perez as " leading leftist at Justice who has taken the lead in the attacks on Arizona's immigration enforcement measures, attacks on election integrity measures such as voter ID, and the shakedown of financial institutions over dubious discriminatory lending allegations."  It turns out, you see, that Perez has a full history of advocacy for illegal alients.  Judicial Watch references the Department of Just-us's own web site to show the kinds of activity Perez is engaged in (I quickly looked at the site and had a mixed reaction to it- not entirely negative but plenty to be upset about).

And this is the man President Obama wants to head the Department of Labor?  Hey, why not?  Have his Accomplice Media nailed him on the other appointments I listed above?  Nope.  So what do they have to worry about with Perez?

Let me finish with one more quote from a commentary by former DOJ attorney Hans Von Spakovsky, which I agree with completely:

Imagine if a conservative political appointee at DOJ had just been cited in a federal court decision as having apparently testified falsely under oath. Not only would it be a top headline at The New York Times and The Washington Post, but the IG and OPR would be rushing to investigate. All of which is a sad commentary on the liberal bias not just of the media, but of too many of the offices and officials within the Justice Department who are supposed to administer justice in an objective, non-political, and impartial manner.

How I wish you were wrong, Mr. Von Spakovsky.  But you aren't.  Not one bit.

On the eve of President Obama's one and only trip to Israel in his entire presidency (more about the trip further on), an op-ed commentary has been printed in the official Palestine Authority newspaper.

Here, pulled from the invaluable web site Palestine Media Watch (palwatch.org) is an excerpt.  As you read it, please keep in mind that the PA is an arm of fatah, which our wonderful "neutral" media keep telling us is the moderate segment of Palestinian Arabs.  (The bold print is mine):

"'History is a great lie written by the victors' - said Napoleon Bonaparte, the source of dubious historical writing and father of Freemasonry in France. If so, is the history planted in us through TV and the standard educational curriculum indeed true? The source of this history is the West - the victor ever since the fall of Andalusia (Muslim Spain)! ...Our history is replete with lies, from lies about the corrupt [Caliph] Harun Al-Rashid, which ignore the sources indicating that he dedicated one year to pilgrimage [to Mecca] and one year to Jihad (i.e., he was a good Muslim), to the lie about Al-Qaeda and the Sept. 11 events, which asserted that Muslim terrorists committed it, and that it was not an internal American action by the Freemasons, which was mentioned in the Illuminati game cards ten years before it took place, and in over 15 Zionist and Freemason Hollywood-produced films in the 1990s. The method of repeating [the lies] over and over has authenticated false facts. Had Hitler won, Nazism would be an honor that people would be competing to belong to, and not a disgrace punishable by law. Churchill and Roosevelt were alcoholics, and in their youth were questioned more than once about brawls they started in bars, while Hitler hated alcohol and was not addicted to it. He used to go to sleep early and wake up early, and was very organized. These facts have been turned upside down as well, and Satan has been dressed with angels' wings..."

Well, that's pretty moderate - if you agree that Jews blew up the World Trade Center and Hitler was a great guy, that is.

These, folks, are the people who the world demands that Israel make peace with.

Oh, speaking of President Obama's trip, hamas - which is the terrorist segment of Palestinian Arabs (as opposed to that wonderfully "moderate" crew of the Palestine Authority) -  has threatened that if President Obama should go to the Temple Mount in Jerusalem, it would be a "Declaration of War".   Which means, of course, that if he does not go hamas will tell the world it was because they scared him off.

But instead acting like a man and announcing something like "I had not intended to visit the Temple Mount, but now I feel compelled to do so, as a demonstration that I, as all of my fellow Americans, will not be intimidated by threats, and am free to determine which places I will or will not visit", President Obama will avoid the Temple Mount like the bubonic plague.

Great going, Mr. President.

Boy, lucky for hamas that it didn't announce the construction of a few hundred residential apartments for Jews in East Jerusalem.  After all, experience has shown us that this is what causes Barack Obama to grow a set of gonads.
