RACHEL DITTOW

Ken Berwitz

Have Rachel Maddow, and/or her people, created a large number of twitter accounts to talk about her and put her towards the top of twitter's "trending" list?

P.J. Gladnick at newsbusters.org thinks so - based on information from a tweeter using the name "leftybollocks", who found exactly the same tweet about Maddow from many different sites.

Want to see what he came up with?  Ok, take a look at this (click on it to see an enlarged version):

Well, either a great many different people all have exactly the same thing to say about Ms. Maddow, word for word, or someone is artificially booming up her importance -- which, let's face it, could use a lot of booming up, since she has less than half the viewership of Sean Hannity, her competition over at Fox..

I'll leave it to you to decide which is more likely.

Rachel Dittow.  Has a nice ring to it.

SEQUESTRATION: DAY 1

Ken Berwitz

Well, we are in sequestration.

Which, based on the doomsday campfire-story-quality horror scenario pushed by President Obama and his pals, means there are no services for the needy, dramatically long lines at the airport, terrorists can come into the country and blow us up without almost any problem at all, etc. etc. etc. etc.

Is any of that happening?  No, of course not.

Do you expect any of it will?  No, of course not.  Knocking $85 billion off a hopelessly bloated budget of over $3.5 trillion won't do that or anything even remotely close.

The sequester was President Obama's wet dream until it happened, because he could blame Republicans for the disaster it would visit on us all.  But now that it has happened, it is President Obama's worst nightmare, because even the most blindly partisan Obamanites will have to face the fact that none of his doomsday scenarios are going to happen.*

Maybe, now, finally, three months too late for it to affect their vote, some of those Obamanites will realize what a liar we have in the White House.

==============================================

*Unless Mr. Obama is reckless, and transparent, enough to demand that essential services be cut even though it is obvious other, less important cuts could have been made instead.  Then, even his sycophantic media people might turn on him.

KATHLEEN PARKER ON THE WOODWARD THREAT

Ken Berwitz

The Washington Post's Kathleen Parker has written a piece about the Obama administration's threat to iconic reporter Bob Woodward (who is far from an enemy of either Mr. Obama or Democrats in general) for the "crime" of noting that the sequester originated with Barack Obama, not Republicans, thus he is lying about it to the American people.

Please click here to read Ms. Parker's entire piece.  But, in the meantime, here are her last three paragraphs.

This is no tempest in a teapot but rather the leak in the dike. Drip by drip, the Obama administration has demonstrated its intolerance for dissent and its contempt for any who stray from the White House script. Yes, all administrations are sensitive to criticism, and all push back when such criticism is deemed unfair or inaccurate. But no president since Richard Nixon has demonstrated such overt contempt for the messenger. And, thanks to technological advances in social media, Obama has been able to bypass traditional watchdogs as no other president has.

More to the point, the Obama White House is, to put it politely, fudging as it tries to place the onus of the sequester on Congress. And, as has become customary, officials are using the Woodward spat to distract attention. As Woodward put it: "This is the old trick . . . of making the press . . . the issue, rather than what the White House has done here."

Killing the messenger is a time-honored method of controlling the message, but we have already spilled that blood. And the First Amendment's protection of a free press, the purpose of which is to check power and constrain government's ability to dictate the lives of private citizens, was no accident.

Yep.  You got that right. My only carp is how "politely" you called Barack Obama a liar.  There is no reason to be polite here:  he is lying.  Period.

THE QUOTE OF THE DAY

Ken Berwitz

Today's quote comes in the form of a swatch of editorial commentary from the Harvard Crimson.  Its subject is three Harvard graduates who have been critical of the University:  Cable news show host Bill O'Reilly, Presidential candidate Mitt Romney, and U.S. Senator Ted Cruz.

Here is the kind of thinking a Harvard education has provided the Crimson staff with:

"If we could have spoken to these three men, we would have told them never to come to Cambridge.  We at The Crimson urge anyone who plans on one day scoring political points by maligning Harvard to neither apply, enroll, nor graduate from this fine institution."

Translation:  If you come here - or leave here - with an open mind about Harvard, turn it the hell off.  Think of us as Glinda the good witch, who tells you to think only good thoughts -- then take everything else and stuff it.  We are newspeople, and we will tolerate no dissent.

What arrogant, self-important, thought-police-quality jerks.

If this is what a Harvard education culminates in, I suggest your child aspire to the nearest community college instead.  It will be a dramatically less expensive education, and just might provide a few values that, while odious to the Crimson staff, will serve your child well in the real world - as opposed to the Harvard-uber-alles world these so-called "journalists" live in.

DEMOCRAT "CIVILITY" (CONT.)

Ken Berwitz

The following tweets were posted by Wisconsin's Democrat Communications Director Graeme Zielinski, about Republican Governor Scott Walker:

What do @GovWalker and Jeffrey Dahmer have in common?

@GovWalker had better lawyers than Jeffrey Dahmer in beating the rap. Clear that he committed crimes.

In case you are unaware, jeffrey dahmer was a mass murderer who killed, raped, dismembered, and sometimes ate part of 17 men and boys over a 13 year period.  dahmer was killed in prison in 1994.

By contrast, Governor Walker, with his Republican-majority legislature, pushed through laws that limited collective bargaining for public sector employees in Wisconsin.

That is the comparison.  And that is the "civility" level Zielinski demonstrates.

But, then again, I'm sure you know about this.  Because the same media which jump all over Republicans who say stupid, obnoxious things have been all over this for the past day, right?  Uh, right?

Oh, by the way, after the fact we have these tweets from Zielinski:

    Graeme Zielinski@gjzielinski

My heartfelt apologies to the victims of Jeffrey Dahmer. Their pain is not something with which I should have trifled.

    Graeme Zielinski@gjzielinski

And my apologies to @GovWalker for my inappropriate Tweeting.

Yep.  Put it out there, let it marinate for a while, and then offer "heartfelt apologies" to the victims (I assume he means the victims' families)....and "apologies" (please note the lack of "heartfelt") to Governor Walker.

There you have it.  Democrat "civility" at its finest.  Expect to hear all about it tonight on MSNBC.  It will be right after the segment on how completely President Obama lied about sequestration.

(Anon) . .... . . . . "My heartfelt apologies to the victims of Jeffrey Dahmer" -- Zielinski . . . . . . . . . What about their other body parts ? .. . . . . . (03/02/13)

STUPID LEFTWING PARTISAN IS AS STUPID LEFTWING PARTISAN DOES...

Ken Berwitz

I admit this is not entirely fair.  But it is a) a lot more factual than anything this ridiculous fraud has said, and b) makes a pretty good point.

So here it is.
