Who was the woman who claimed she was sexually harassed by Herman Cain (no physical contact, she says) and couldn't tell her story because of the confidentiality part of her $$$ settlement -- and then, when the National Restaurant Association waived the confidentiality, wouldn't tell it anyway?

It turns out her name is Karen Kraushaar.  And, though she has worked in government through both Democrat and Republican administrations, is currently working for the Obama administration.

That's right.  Global cooling.

See for yourself, on the following chart which is produced by the  National Climatic Data Center, which is part of NASA:

Maybe Al Gore can take a few minutes off from making untold millions selling "carbon credits", to explain this.  But I doubt it.

Anyone who tells you that "global warming" is settled science is almost certainly one or more of the following:  ignorant, gullible, ideologically compromised or profiting in some way from the claim.

Maybe it's just me, but I am quickly getting a sense that Sharon Bialek, Gloria Allred's newest publicity vehicle, is very quickly going to be toast.

Yesterday Ms. Bialek, with Allred clinging to her side like a polyp with makeup, told a horrific tale of woe - in which, she claims (without benefit of any corroborating witnesses, of course) that, 14 years ago Herman Cain tried to goose her, she said no, and he stopped trying.

Waiting for more?  Sorry, there isn't any more.  That is the beginning, middle and end of the accusation.

So who is Sharon Bialek?  Here is your answer, excerpted from Chuck Goudie's piece for ABC News:

The public record on Bialek begins in 1991 when she filed personal bankruptcy for the first time while living in Des Plaines.

Between 1993 and 1996 Bialek worked for four different companies in promotion and marketing positions.

In 1996, and part of 1997, Bialek was at the National Restaurant Association. After being let go from that job in mid-1997, she says that she went to Washington, D.C., to meet with Cain, president of the association, because she needed a job.

In 1999, Bialek's son Nicholas was born and a paternity lawsuit was filed by the father, a media executive.

In 2001 came Bialek's second personal bankruptcy, filed after sizable legal bills. That year she was hired by WGN radio where she worked until 2004 when she took a marketing job and then a job at WCKG radio.

Along the way, according to her attorney, Bialek also held positions with Revlon and Easter Seals.

Bialek currently lives in Mundelein with fiance Mark Harwood.

Twice bankrupt, changing jobs as fast as a no-tell motel changes sheets.......maybe it's just my personal cynicism, but I can't say that encourages me to believe Ms. Bialek's uncorroborated account of a 14 year old incident of attempted low-level (bad pun there) groping.

Then we have this, from veteran Chicago Sun-Times columnist Michael Sneed:

They hugged each other backstage in a full embrace like old friends.

She grabbed his arm and whispered in his left ear.

She kept talking as he bent to listen, and he kept saying Uh, huh. Uh, huh.

I dont know if what she was giving him was a sucker punch, but he didnt put his arm down while she was talking to him, said the Sneed source.

The he... is GOP presidential contender Herman Cain, who has been accused of sexual harassment by several women.

The she... is Chicagoan Sharon Bialek, who held a news conference Tuesday as the only woman to PUBLICLY accuse Cain of sexual harassment.

The Sneed source ... is WIND radio co-host Amy Jacobson, who tells Sneed she witnessed the Cain/Bialek encounter a month ago while backstage at the AM 560 WIND sponsored TeaCon meeting in Schaumburg Sept. 30-Oct. 1 at the Renaissance Hotel and Convention Center.

Quoth Jacobson: I had turned on TV to find out who was Cains accuser, and I almost fell over when I saw it was Sharon Bialek accusing Cain of groping her genitals.

Does this suggest Sharon Bialek was traumatized by Herman Cain?  Or does she come across as someone who sees a major opportunity to get massive publicity and maybe a quick bunch of bucks?  You tell me.

And if this is what we know so far, it is a very good bet that the Sharon Bialek story is only going to get worse.

One other thing.  During last night's "Hardball" show on MSNBC (where else?) Chris Matthews almost fell over himself to make this sound like some kind of violent sexual assault, and questionned how it would be possible to field Mr. Cain as a presidential candidate:

"Whoa, I guess thats about as clear a case of sexual harassment, it looks to me like sexual assault, basicallythis is horrible, unbelievable behavior..its horrendous

This is the same Chris Matthews who had no problem with President Clinton's multiple aggressions against women, including (among others) a charge of rape by Juanita Broaddrick, of trying to force Paula Jones to give him oral sex, and his ongoing sexual encounters with a powerless intern named Monica Lewinsky, in his workplace during the work day.

I'm starting to get the impression that Chris Matthews has gone beyond unconditional partisanship and is degenerating into a hopeless idiot.

I wrote about this prospect so many times during the past half year that my fingers ached.  And here it is.

From Peter Kirsanow of National Review (it's a very short blog, so I'm not excerpting.  My apologies to Mr. Kirsanow, who can do the same with my material any time he cares to):

The U.N. envoy to Libya reports that weapons depots in that country remain unguarded and large amounts of weaponry have gone missing, including thousands of shoulder-fired missiles. At least two sites contain chemical weapons and nuclear material, including approximately 7,000 drums of uranium. Assistant Secretary of State Andrew Shapiro says terrorist groups have expressed interest in obtaining the missiles, which could pose a threat to civil aviation.

The Daily Telegraph reports that Libyan rebel leader Abdel-Hakim al-Hasidi has admitted that a significant number of the Libyan rebels consisted of al-Qaeda fighters, many of whom fought U.S. troops in Iraq and Afghanistan. Numerous news outlets report that in the last two weeks, scores of al-Qaeda flags have been raised over Benghazi and throughout Libya, including over the headquarters of the Libyan rebels.

Given the evident allegiances and sympathies of many of the Libyan rebels, what is the probability that al-Qaeda and other terrorist groups will acquire, or already have acquired, at least some of the missing Libyan weapons?

Do we have any basis for determining how many of the chemical weapons and drums of uranium are missing?

Is Libya a lesser threat to U.S. security now than it was a year ago, or is it a greater one?

Thank you, Mr. Kirsanow, for asking this question - which I have been asking for months.

Now:  When do the members of our "Accomplice Media" get around to asking it of President Obama?

That's what real journalists would do - which, sad to say, probably explains why most of our media do not.

free` This is what you get when you elect a man who had absolutely no experience to be the POTUS!!! Just look at all the head lines at DrudgeReport.com, our country is being run [ruined] by a bunch of incompetents. (11/09/11)

Zeke .... World War I was fought "to make the world safe for democracy." ...... ....... Apparently, NATO fought in Libya "to make the Mahgreb (North Africa) safe for al-Q'aeda" ..... ..... Somehow, "democracy" and "Libya" are no longer used in the same paragraph --- quite a change from a few months ago .... "democracy rebels", blah, blah, blah .... (11/08/11)

This is like something right out of Les Miserables.  The "Occupy" protesters fighting the homeless for "ownership" of a public park.

Excerpted from an article at the CBS news - Sacramento web site:

SACRAMENTO (CBS13) As the Occupy Sacramento movement settles in for another night inside Cesar Chavez Park, another group sits, watches and wonders if theyll ever get what they call their park back.

These homeless people have been out here alot longer than you have, one homeless person tells CBS13.

I just wish theyd give us our park back, one homeless woman says.

Shes one of dozens of homeless whove signed a petition:

They got their own security, they act like the police, one man tells Lopez. Anytime you do anything they say you cant do this and that and were saying youre not the police.

But the allegations of harassment go both ways.

She on numerous occasions came to me with violent threats like Im going to get you, just terrible things, one Occupy organizer says.

The Occupy leader felt so threatened by a homeless woman, she thought about getting a restraining order.

You've got to be kidding.   Two groups, neither of which has any more right to use Cesar Chavez park than anyone else, battling over who "owns" it?

Tell me:  When do Sacramento's Mayor and Police Chief grow a set of gonads and return the park to its real owners; the public?  They seem to be last in line, don't they?

What good can possibly come of this situation?  Is it not clear that, eventually, someone is going to get hurt (if it hasn't already happened)?

That said, however, I do admit I got a laugh out of the idea that an "Occupy" protester, who belongs to a group that rejects law enforcement, is considering a restraining order - against a homeless person, yet.  For what?  Trespassing in the park she's trespassing in?  Does an "Occupy" protester have a prior right of trespass over a homeless person?  Do squatter's rights obtain here?

Who said this ill-begotten movement doesn't provide entertainment value?

Zeke .... .... My rights are better than your rights. ..... What about the rights of the 'average citizens' whose taxes pay for the park ? ? ? ..... .... This is what happens when our esteemed public officials decide it is too confrontational to enforce the law --- Wonder what's going to happen if an informal group ... say a Saturday baseball league .... ... decide to have a little fun and exercise THEIR right to use the public park .....
