Over the past 1-2 years, virtually no one I have spoken to, regardless of party preference or skin color, tries to justify eric holder's so-called Department of Justice letting Philadelphia's black panther thugs off the hook for their voter intimidation on election day, 2008.

But, this disgraceful, toady, sock-puppet of an Attorney General did let them off the hook.  And there are consequences.

One of those consequences may be a need by Democrats, especially in minority areas, to "create" similar incidents to "prove" that "they all do it".

With this in mind, here is an excerpt from Tommy Christopher's article at, describing allegations of voter intimidation in Houston Texas:

In a story thats sure to draw comparisons to the New Black Panther Party member who brandished a nightstick at a Philadelphia polling place in 2008, a Tea Party group called the King Street Patriots has been accused of 1960s style voter intimidation in primarily minority precincts on the first day of early voting in Texas. The group is being sued by the Texas Democratic Party, following the filing of 14 voter intimidation complaints with the county clerk, and another two dozen with the Texas Democratic Party chairman.

DeLeon said the county clerks office received 14 complaints of alleged voter intimidation at 11 voting locations on Monday, the first day of early voting for the Nov. 2 general election. Birnberg said his office forwarded about two dozen complaints to the county attorneys office.

In any election year you get one or two over-zealous poll watchers, but this was a pattern throughout minority early voting precincts, (Texas Democratic Party chairman Gerry Birnberg said.

We hope it can be resolved by government authorities pointing out to these folks that they not only are acting undemocratically but blatantly illegally.

The King Street Patriots deny that they were intimidating voters.

While the allegations in this case are much more widespread than in the NBPP story, so far, there is no video of the incidents in Houston, which makes this story a tougher sale.

Hmmm.  No video, no actual evidence, and primarily at minority voting locations.  What a great "answer" to the Philadelphia black panther episode.

Except there may be just a bit more to it.  Here, from Melissa Clouthier's article at, is what the Christopher story did not tell us.  Please pay special attention to the paragraphs I've put in bold print:

Poll Watchers Claim Harassment And Intimidation At Houston, Texas Voting Places

Catherine Engelbrecht, founder of Kings Street Patriots strongly denies the allegations and noted that it was absurd that little old ladies would be intimidating anyone. She says that one 65 year old woman poll watcher came back from poll watching, after being kicked out for simply being presentitself a violation of the lawin tears.

Engelbrecht also notes that Kings Street Patriots learned they were being sued by the Texas Democratic Party at 11 a.m. yesterday morning when not one poll watcher had yet been removed and not one complaint sent to the county about any untoward actions.

In one instance, three poll watchers were yelled at by a Democrat Harris County Commissioner El Franco Lee who said,Why are you here? We have never had poll watchers here. Yall need to get on out of here.

Lee then demanded that the polling place judge give him information about the three poll watchers and the presiding judge compliedgiving him their private information. The three poll watchers now fear for their safety and wonder what will be done with their personal information which included their phone numbers and home addresses.

The alleged cases here in Houston are unsupported accusations with no documentation and no video or audio proof. Meanwhile, the poll watchers themselves report being yelled at and harassed, told to leave, and intimidated.

Of course, Matt Angle features in The Blueprint, a fine piece of political journalism that describes how a handful of committed millionaire progressives managed to flip formerly reliably Republican Colorado to the Dems over a few election cycles, through strategic funding of down-ballot political races, creation of a loose network of independent news organizations and ethics groups to pound targeted opponents, and liberal use (no pun intended) of the legal system to tie up ostensibly conservative organizations. Angle all but promised to bring the Colorado Model to Texas, in the form of his Lone Star Project (and associated groups).

And if you begin to connect the dots locally as Cory Crow also does you can see elements of the Colorado Model at work, right here in Harris County.

Another local Houston blogger, Cory Crow does connect the dots:

Its interesting to note that, on the same day the HCDP added KSP to their lawsuit the George Soros/Matt Angle backed Texans for Public Justice filed an ethics complaint against KSP based almost entirely on reporting found in another Colorado Model media outlet, The American Independent, which was then dutifully carried by another Colorado Model news outlet The Texas Tribune which conveniently forgot to disclose TPJs funding ties to Texas Democratic king-maker Matt Angle.*

So we have several (allegedly) Democratic partisan groups suing and filing ethics complaints against an (allegedly) Republican partisan group for (allegedly) performing the exact same actions theyre (allegedly) involved in.

How does that smell to you?  A little ripe?  A lot ripe?

Well, just remember that these are Democrats and the Attorney General is Obama appointee eric holder.  So don't count on mainstream media investigating it, beyond noting the "parallel" between this and the Philadelphia voter intimidation disgrace - in which the accused did not even bother to put up a defense, but eric holder's so-called "Department of Justice" vacated their default conviction anyway.

You can't say these guys don't recognize when the fix is in.  And you can't say that it doesn't embolden others to act just as brazenly and unfairly in other places.

Like Houston, for example.

anonymous Poll watcher was a 65 year old little grandmother who thought that she was doing her civic duty by volunteering but was yelled at and chased out by El Franco Lee who is a politician who must think he ownes the precinct. She left crying. (10/20/10)

Would it surprise you to learn that President Obama, with his disgraceful toady and sock-puppet, eric holder, is using the Department of Justice to manipulate the vote in favor of Democrats?

In the unlikely event that it would, in fact, surprise you, please read the following excerpts from today's Washington Times' editorial:

Justice Department disenfranchises military, protects Black Panthers

The Washington Times

Wednesday, October 20, 2010

The Obama Justice Department is doing everything it can to boost Democrats in the upcoming election. It's helping stifle military votes, facilitating criminal voting and encouraging intimidation at the polls by deep-sixing the New Black Panther voter-intimidation case.

Despite months of warnings, Justice attorneys sat on their hands as 16 states and territories were caught in noncompliance with the MOVE Act. The Military Voter Protection Project, a private organization using volunteer law students, discovered most of the noncompliance well before Mr. Holder's professional lawyers did. In President Obama's home state of Illinois, at least 35 counties were noncompliant. Finally yesterday, 32 days after the original deadline for mailing ballots and 13 days after the first reports of massive failure, Justice entered a consent decree. It "calls for a one day extension on the deadline for ... soldiers overseas to postmark their ballots," according to Fox News. "But this decree seems to ignore the fact that some ballots were printed and mailed over two weeks late."

The same Illinois election officials are rushing ballots - unrequested by inmates - to the Cook County jail. This consummates the Justice Department's vow - previously highlighted on its website - to help felons in each state reacquire voting privileges. All the while, for nearly a year, Justice refused to update the military-voting section of its website to publicize MOVE Act requirements.

Under the leadership of Mr. Obama and Mr. Holder, felons vote while soldiers don't, and armed Black Panthers can yell racial epithets at voters but whistleblowers are prohibited from responding to lawful subpoenas. This is how the Obama administration views justice. .

Are you as sickened and outraged as I am by this despicable manipulation of the vote?  If so, then please remember it on election day - both this year and in 2012.

And, with great thanks to the Washington Times, please also remember which media are, and are not, informing you about it.

free` I am in California, I mailed in my ballot today. It cost 61 cents postage. :) (10/20/10)

I'm trying to be charitable by calling this a blunder - though I concede that it may have been intentional.

Excerpted from the Washington Post writer Jackson Diehl's excellent commentary which I read at the Miami Herald web site.  Please pay special attention to the part I have put in bold print:

For 15 years and more, Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas conducted peace talks with Israel in the absence of a freeze on Jewish settlement construction in the West Bank and East Jerusalem. Now, it appears as likely as not that his newborn negotiations with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu -- and the goal of agreement on a Palestinian state within a year -- will die because of Abbas' refusal to continue without such a freeze.

The Palestinian president's stand has frustrated a lot of people -- including his own prime minister, Salaam Fayyad, and Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak, both of whom have said that the settlement issue should not be an obstacle to the negotiations. At a recent dinner in Washington, Fayyad pointed out that any building in the settlements during the next year would have no effect on the outcome of the talks or the future Palestinian state.

So why does Abbas stubbornly persist in his self-defeating position? In an interview with Israeli television Sunday night, he offered a remarkably candid explanation: ``When Obama came to power, he is the one who announced that settlement activity must be stopped,'' he said. ``If America says it and Europe says it and the whole world says it, you want me not to say it?''

The statement confirmed something that many Mideast watchers have suspected for a long time: that the settlement impasse originated not with Netanyahu or Abbas but with President Obama -- who by insisting on an Israeli freeze has created a near-insuperable obstacle to the peace process he is trying to promote.

Look, as things now stand I have little expectation that any kind of real peace deal can ever be floated between Israelis and Palestinian Arabs.  When you have two entities claiming the same land area as their own, and the land area includes 100% of one of the entities, there is no room for negotiation.

But whatever chance there was of any kind of a deal under any circumstances, effectively ended the day Barack Obama demanded that Israelis not build on its own land - in its capital city, no less.

Either Barack Obama and his people are monumental blunderers, or they intentionally sabotaged the prospect of mutual accommodation between Israel and Palestinian Arabs.

Take your pick.  Then tell me which one of them is good.

Can we move up the 2012 elections?  Please?

Far be it from me to do toilet humor....

From WTOP in Washington DC:

D.C. toilet shortage is Keeping Fear Alive

October 20, 2010 - 7:44am

WASHINGTON -- The calls of nature may be particularly loud at an upcoming D.C. event if attendees don't have a place to "go."

Comedy Central organizers are having a hard time finding port-o-potties for their rallies to take place in a week and a half, after the Marine Corps Marathon planners snatched up about 800 of them for the same weekend.

The organizers of Jon Stewart's Rally to Restore Sanity and Stephen Colbert's March to Keep Fear Alive, both to take place Saturday, Oct. 30, have asked the marathon staff to share the portable toilets with their 65,000 expected to attendees.

But the Marines aren't budging -- they plan to lock the toilets until the morning of their race the day after, they tell the New York Times.

The National Park Service requires portable toilets for events expected to exceed capacity of "comfort facilities" on NPS property, according to a department document. They recommend one toilet for every 300 people.

An NPS spokesperson tells WTOP that comedy Central should be able to get more port-o-potties in the greater D.C. area.

When you get right down to it, using a toilet is a little like laughing at comedy.  Sometimes you can let it all out, but sometimes you just have to hold it in.

All I can say is that this is a piss-poor way to run a rally.  Most attendees will probably be full of crap.

And whoever bought the rights to the ex-lax concession should demand his money back.

Dialogue (if you can call it that) from last night's Joy Behar show (which I did not watch, but read the transcript of from Tim Graham's blog at

BEHAR: Now, you played a bad guy in "Red" and you also played a bad guy in "W," one of my favorite movies. So funny.

DREYFUSS: Which you said I would never do. He would never do that. He would never play Dick Cheney. He's a liberal.

BEHAR: I was wrong. I was wrong. But was it hard to play Dick Cheney?

DREYFUSS: It's a big person --

BEHAR: Where did you find in yourself -- because I know that you're not a fan of Cheney. I know that.

DREYFUSS: I'm not a fan of Cheney's.

BEHAR: OK. Where did you find it in yourself to go down and find that satanic spot that we all know so well?

DREYFUSS: Are you leading me somewhere? First of all, every actor likes the play bad guys.

DREYFUSS: And it just so happen in the last few years I played all Republican bad guys.

BEHAR: Oh, yes.

DREYFUSS: That's just a coincidence. And to play Dick Cheney, all I had to do was find my Dick Cheney. And you can find all the villainy in the world in your own heart, and that`s what an actor's job is.

 BEHAR: That's right.

DREYFUSS: I always say to kids, inside you is Hitler and Jesus. And you got to find the appropriate person and bring them out.

How very clever.

It certainly goes a long way toward explaining Joy Behar's ratings....which, after over a year on HLN still sit in dead last place in its time slot.  Hannity has almost 10 times as many viewers.  Heck, even MSNBC has almost four times as many viewers.

I guess Dick Cheney is responsible for that too.

Ken Berwitz

I just got this timely reminder from West Coast Russ, and (with minor revisions) I'm passing it along to you.

Remember January 3, 2007

I dont understand WHY the people running for office dont say this in their ads!!!

The day the democrats took over was not January 20, 2009 it was actually January, 2007 when Democrats took over the House of Representatives and the Senate.

Every time you hear someone claim that everything is Bushs Fault, think about this:

When Democrats took control of both houses of congress in 2007:

-The DOW Jones closed at 12,621.77

-The GDP for the previous quarter was 3.5%

-The Unemployment rate was 4.6%

-We were experiencing a record of 52 STRAIGHT MONTHS of JOB CREATION!

Remember the day.

January 3, 2007 was the day that Barney Frank took over as Chairman of the House Financial Services Committee and Chris Dodd took over as Chairman of the Senate Banking Committee.

The economic meltdown that happened 15 months later was in what part of the economy?

-Thank Congress for taking us from 13,000 DOW, 3.5 GDP and 4.6% Unemployment to this CRISIS by dumping 5-6 TRILLION Dollars of toxic loans on the economy from YOUR Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac fiascos!

(BTW: Bush asked Congress 17 TIMES to stop Fannie & Freddie starting in 2001, because it was financially risky for the U.S. economy, but no one was listening).

-And who took the THIRD highest pay-off from Fannie Mae AND Freddie Mac? OBAMA. (In his fundraising records.of course Goldman Sachs topped the list)

-And who fought against reform of Fannie and Freddie??? OBAMA and the Democratic Congress.

So when someone blames it all on Bush

And, as you listen to all the commercials and media from the Democrats who are now distancing themselves from their voting record and their party, remember how they didnt listen to you when you said you didnt want all the bailouts, you didnt want the health care bill, you didnt want cap and trade, you didnt want them to continue spending money we dont have.

"Gentlemen, it appears we are out of time and money. Now we shall have to think" - Winston Churchill

That's well worth remembering, isn't it?

Apparently, the academy award for anti-Semitism goes to jean-luc godard.

The reason I say this is very basic:  the academy is giving jeab-luc godard an award, and he is an anti-Semite.  godard hates Jews and he hates Israel (not what you'd call an unusual combination).

Benjamin Ivry of the Jewish Daily Forward has written an excellent piece about godard's anti-Semitism; one that appears to be indisputably clear.  It is far too long to post here, but I will give you several of the key excerpts, in the hope that you click on this link and read it all:

Are They Giving an Oscar to an Anti-Semite?

Strange Thing Hollywood, Where the Dishonorable are Honored

By Benjamin Ivry

Hollywoods Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences intends to award an honorary Oscar to iconic French-Swiss filmmaker Jean-Luc Godard on November 13. But will the academy be honoring a notoriously vocal, albeit French-speaking, anti-Semite?

Admired for avant-garde films like Breathless (1960); My Life to Live (1962) and Contempt (1963), Godard is one of the last survivors of French cinemas New Wave movement, after the death in January of director ric Rohmer and the premature 1984 demise of Godards colleague and ex-friend, Franois Truffaut. The friendship between Godard and Truffaut dissolved by the end of the 1960s because of the formers anti-Semitism, according to two new biographies: Godard by film historian Antoine de Baecque, published in Paris in March, and Everything Is Cinema: The Working Life of Jean-Luc Godard (2008) by Richard Brody.

Both biographers recount a series of incidents expressing Godards unhealthy obsession with Jews, which noted French historian and journalist Pierre Assouline, on his Le Monde blog, termed anti-Semitic. In 1968, Godard, in the presence of Truffaut, called producer Pierre Braunberger, an early supporter of New Wave filmmakers, sale juif (filthy Jew), after which Truffaut immediately broke from Godard.

Godards attitude toward Jews has also come under the microscope because of his contempt for the State of Israel, which he has often called a cancer on the map of the Middle East including in a famous 1991 interview with the newspaper Libration. His 1976 documentary Ici et Ailleurs (Here and Elsewhere) contrasts the lives of a French and Palestinian family and features alternatingly flickering images of Golda Meir and Adolf Hitler, proposing them as comparable tyrants. As de Baecque underlines, in Ici et Ailleurs Godard also defends the 1972 Munich Olympics massacre, suggesting that before every Olympics finale, an image of Palestinian [refugee] camps should be broadcast.

Godards fictional films also contain disquieting anti-Semitic utterances, sometimes in the guise of pseudo-humor. In 1964s A Married Woman (Une Femme Marie), a character states: Today, in Germany, I said to someone, How about if tomorrow, we kill all the Jews and the hairdressers? He replied, Why the hairdressers? In 1967s Two or Three Things I Know About Her (Deux ou Trois Choses Que je Sais Delle), the director brags that ParisMatch magazine always affixes a star to my films, as it does to Jews. The allusion to the Nazi law forcing Jews to wear yellow stars in Occupied France is symptomatic of a sensibility, usually found among Europes ultra-right-wing politicians, that produces crushingly unfunny jokes about such historical tragedy. Godards 2010 film, Film Socialisme (Socialism Film), which premiered in May at the Cannes Film Festival, features a typical pseudo-aphorism of this ilk: Strange thing Hollywood Jews invented it.

In a 2009 article in Le Monde, Godard and the Jewish Question by Jean-Luc Douin, Godard is quoted as making an off-camera comment during the filming of a 2006 documentary: Palestinians suicide bombings in order to bring a Palestinian State into existence ultimately resemble what the Jews did by allowing themselves to be led like sheep to be slaughtered in gas chambers, sacrificing themselves to bring into existence the State of Israel. Godard apparently believes that Jews committed mass suicide during the Holocaust in order for Israel to be created. The same article quotes him along these lines: Basically, there were six million kamikazes and Hollywood was invented by Jewish gangsters. At least Godard cannot accuse the American film industry of being ungrateful gangsters.

When the Forward submitted some of Godards anti-Semitic utterances to the academy, the following written response was issued: The Academy is aware that Jean-Luc Godard has made statements in the past that some have construed as anti-Semitic. We are also aware of detailed rebuttals to that charge. Anti-Semitism is of course deplorable, but the Academy has not found the accusations against M. Godard persuasive.

Sometimes I think that, in order to enter Hollywood and/or become a member of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, you have to be issued a triple dose of LSD and a quart of psychedelic mushrooms, so that you can blow right by reality and go straight to the distant land of insane delusions, where the jean-luc godards of the world are ok because, in that place, their anti-Semitism somehow does not exist.

Me?  I live in the real world.  jean-luc godard can take a long walk on a short pier.  And he can take the morons who are giving him this award along for the walk.

Maybe they'd also like to give a posthumous award to leni riefenstahl, on the grounds that "the Academy has not found the accusations against M. hitler persuasive" either.

free` psychedelic mushrooms are sold by the gram or by the ounce. ;) (10/20/10)
