Some Israelis Insulted By Obama Picture

Obama Shoes

Israeli TV newscasters Tuesday night interpreted a photo taken Monday in the Oval Office of President Obama talking on the phone with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu as an "insult" to Israel.

They saw the incident as somewhat akin to an incident last year, when the Iraqi reporter threw a shoe at President Bush in Baghdad.

It is considered an insult in the Arab world to show the sole of your shoe to someone. It is not a Jewish custom necessarily, but Israel feels enough a part of the Middle East after 60 years to be insulted too.

Was there a subliminal message intended from the White House to Netanyahu in Jerusalem, who is publicly resisting attempts by Mr. Obama and Secretary of State Hillary Clinton to force Israel to stop any kind of settlement activity in occupied territories once and forever?

Whether or not it is true, it shows the mood in Israel. They feel cornered. The reactions out of Israel reflect that feeling.

Netanyahu is making a speech Sunday, in part as a response to Mr. Obama's address to the Arab world last week in Cairo.

Israel's Channel One TV reported that Netanyahu was told Tuesday by an "American official" in Jerusalem that, "We are going to change the world. Please, don't interfere." The report said Netanyahu's aides interpreted this as a "threat."

Netanyahu met with George Mitchell today for four hours in Jerusalem. The State Department announced this afternoon that Mitchell will be stopping in Beirut and Damascus when he finishes his visits to Israel and the Palestinian Authority.

Your call.

Here is an excerpt from David Squires article about jeremiah wright, in the Hampton, Virginia Daily Press.

As you will see, wright is just as much of a Jew hater and Israel hater as he was last year -- and for the almost 20 years Barack Obama proactively chose wright as his pastor and as a major influence on his two children:

Rev. Wright says he doesn't regret severed relationship with president

| 247-4639

June 10, 2009

HAMPTON - The Rev. Jeremiah Wright says he does not feel any regrets over his severed relationship with President Barack Obama, a former member of the Chicago church in which Wright was the longtime pastor.

Wright also said that he had not spoken to his former church member since Obama became president, implying that the White House won't allow Obama to talk to him. He did not indicate whether he had tried to reach Obama.

"Regret for what... that the media went back five, seven, 10 years and spent $4,000 buying 20 years worth of sermons to hear what I've been preaching for 20 years?

"Regret for preaching like I've been preaching for 50 years? Absolutely none," Wright said.

Wright said that when he went to the polls, he did not hold any grudge against Obama.

"Of course I voted for him; he's my son. I'm proud of him," Wright said. "I've got five biological kids. They all make mistakes and bad choices. I haven't stopped loving any of them.

"He made mistakes. He made bad choices. I've got kids who listen to their friends. He listened to those around him. I did not disown him."

Asked if he had spoken to the President, Wright said: "Them Jews aren't going to let him talk to me. I told my baby daughter, that he'll talk to me in five years when he's a lame duck, or in eight years when he's out of office. ...

"They will not let him to talk to somebody who calls a spade what it is. ... I said from the beginning: He's a politician; I'm a pastor. He's got to do what politicians do."

Wright also said Obama should have sent a U.S. delegation to the World Conference on Racism held recently in Geneva, Switzerland, but that the president did not do so for fear of offending Jews and Israel.

How can anyone look you in the eye and say they didn't know that this was what wright was all about?

How can anyone look you in the eye and say they didn't realize Barack Obama knew this about wright -- or that it was fine and dandy with him, given the 18 YEARS he spent attending wright's church?

How can anyone look you in the eye and say they are certain that Barack Obama, who made this Jew - hating sack of manure his personal hero and mentor, will give Jews or Israel a fair shake?

According to the exit polling, 78% of Jews voted for Barack Obama in the last election.  I hope they're happy with what they got.  Speaking as one of the other 22% I can assure you I'm not.

This is one of those stories that you don't even believe you're seeing.

President Obama - after putting us hopelessly in debt with he and his party's so-called "stimulus package" - the one that has done nothing whatsoever to help our economy so far - is now lecturing us that we have to pay as we go.

Yes, you saw that right.  And to prove it (how could anyone believe he'd say this without proof?) here is the relevant excerpt from a Reuters article:

UPDATE 2-Obama seeks fiscal responsibility mantle

Tue Jun 9, 2009 6:08pm EDT

By Caren Bohan

WASHINGTON, June 9 (Reuters) - President Barack Obama sought on Tuesday to show he was serious about improving the U.S. budget picture as he called on Congress to pass new limits on tax cuts and spending programs to avoid adding to deficits.

Obama urged passage of "pay-as-you-go" legislation that would require any new tax cut or automatic spending program to be paid for within the budget.

"The 'pay as you go' principle is very simple. Congress can only spend a dollar if it saves a dollar elsewhere," Obama said in a speech at the White House attended by several Democratic members of Congress.

"Entitlement increases and tax cuts need to be paid for. They are not free," said Obama, who has been criticized by Republicans for proposing a hefty domestic agenda that includes overhauling the health care system, bolstering education and tackling global climate change.

The White House has forecast a budget deficit for this year of $1.84 trillion, or 12.9 percent of gross domestic product.

Barack Obama calling for pay-as-you-go government is like george soros demanding a cap on income.  HE got HIS, so now, after the fact, he's a champion of policies that would not have allowed him to do so.  Barack Obama got his "stimulus package", complete with the 6,000 - 8,000 earmarks (depending on who you ask) that he said would never be allowed in his administration.  So now he is willing to talk fiscal sanity.

And, yes, Obama goes on to blame all this on President Bush - the guy who didn't come up with a BS "stimulus package" for trillions of dollars we don't have.  That is de rigueur for Barack Obama.  And be assured that he will continue to blame Bush as long as there still are suckers willing to give him a free pass on his own actions.

Palin smacks down Letterman again
By: Andy Barr
June 10, 2009 01:26 PM EST

Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin took a second swipe at David Letterman Wednesday, calling the CBS Late Show hosts jokes about one of her daughters disgusting and sexually perverted.

In an e-mailed statement, the Republican governor said: Laughter incited by sexually perverted comments made by a 62-year-old male celebrity aimed at a 14-year-old girl is not only disgusting, but it reminds us some Hollywood/N.Y. entertainers have a long way to go in understanding what the rest of America understands that acceptance of inappropriate sexual comments about an underage girl, who could be anyone's daughter, contributes to the atrociously high rate of sexual exploitation of minors by older men who use and abuse others.

Her husband, Todd, added in the same statement that any jokes about raping my 14-year-old are despicable. Alaskans know it, and I believe the rest of the world knows it, too.

The Politico 44 Story Widget Requires Adobe Flash Player. //

Riffing on Palins trip to New York last weekend, Letterman joked Monday night that during the seventh inning of the Yankees game her daughter was knocked up by Alex Rodriguez.

Letterman followed up on the line Tuesday night, joking that the toughest part of her visit was keeping [former New York Gov.] Eliot Spitzer away from her daughter.

I doubt hed ever dare make such comments about anyone elses daughter, the governor added in her statement.

She responded to another Letterman line during a radio interview Tuesday, calling him pathetic for joking that she made a stop during her trip and bought makeup at Bloomingdales to update her slutty flight attendant look.

What a commentary there, Palin said told conservative radio host John Ziegler. Thats pretty pathetic, good ole David Letterman.

CBS did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

.Good for Sarah and Todd Palin.  And all shame to the eminently unfunny david letterman.

I note at the end of Barr's article that CBS had not responded to a request for comment.

The fact that CBS has not already apologized for the verbal vomit of its late night "talent" is every bit as shameful - and pathetic - as what letterman said in the first place.

Here is the kind of interview you don't see every day (unless you watch professional wrestling.)

John Ziegler is smug, self-assured, confrontational and aggressively self-promoting -- but often is on the correct side of an issue.

Contessa Brewer is an MSNBC talking head who hasn't got the slightest idea of how to interview someone like Ziegler.

So when Brewer interviewed Ziegler regarding david letterman's repulsive "jokes" about Sarah Palin and her teenaged daughter, do you think there might have been some fireworks?  Well, here is the video, which I picked up at Entertainment Weekly's web site:

Here is Frank Gaffney Jr.s essay, published in today's Washington Times.  You may or may not agree with individual points Mr. Gaffney makes, but they are based on facts - which his piece is loaded with - that our wonderful "neutral" media more often than not are simply ignoring.

GAFFNEY: America's first Muslim president?

Obama aligns with the policies of Shariah-adherents

By Frank J. Gaffney Jr. | Tuesday, June 9, 2009

During his White House years, William Jefferson Clinton -- someone Judge Sonia Sotomayor might call a "white male" -- was dubbed "America's first black president" by a black admirer. Applying the standard of identity politics and pandering to a special interest that earned Mr. Clinton that distinction, Barack Hussein Obama would have to be considered America's first Muslim president.

This is not to say, necessarily, that Mr. Obama actually is a Muslim any more than Mr. Clinton actually is black. After his five months in office, and most especially after his just-concluded visit to Saudi Arabia and Egypt, however, a stunning conclusion seems increasingly plausible: The man now happy to have his Islamic-rooted middle name featured prominently has engaged in the most consequential bait-and-switch since Adolf Hitler duped Neville Chamberlain over Czechoslovakia at Munich.

What little we know about Mr. Obama's youth certainly suggests that he not only had a Kenyan father who was Muslim, but spent his early, formative years as one in Indonesia. As the president likes to say, "much has been made" -- in this case by him and his campaign handlers -- of the fact that he became a Christian as an adult in Chicago, under the now-notorious Pastor Jeremiah A. Wright.

With Mr. Obama's unbelievably ballyhooed address in Cairo Thursday to what he calls "the Muslim world" (hereafter known as "the Speech"), there is mounting evidence that the president not only identifies with Muslims, but actually may still be one himself. Consider the following indicators:

Mr. Obama referred four times in his speech to "the Holy Koran." Non-Muslims -- even pandering ones -- generally don't use that Islamic formulation.

Mr. Obama established his firsthand knowledge of Islam (albeit without mentioning his reported upbringing in the faith) with the statement, "I have known Islam on three continents before coming to the region where it was first revealed." Again, "revealed" is a depiction Muslims use to reflect their conviction that the Koran is the word of God, as dictated to Muhammad.

Then the president made a statement no believing Christian -- certainly not one versed, as he professes to be, in the ways of Islam -- would ever make. In the context of what he euphemistically called the "situation between Israelis, Palestinians and Arabs," Mr. Obama said he looked forward to the day ". . . when Jerusalem is a secure and lasting home for Jews and Christians and Muslims, and a place for all of the children of Abraham to mingle peacefully together as in the story of Isra, when Moses, Jesus and Muhammad (peace be upon them) joined in prayer."

Now, the term "peace be upon them" is invoked by Muslims as a way of blessing deceased holy men. According to Islam, that is what all three were - dead prophets. Of course, for Christians, Jesus is the living and immortal Son of God.

In the final analysis, it may be beside the point whether Mr. Obama actually is a Muslim. In the Speech and elsewhere, he has aligned himself with adherents to what authoritative Islam calls Shariah -- notably, the dangerous global movement known as the Muslim Brotherhood -- to a degree that makes Mr. Clinton's fabled affinity for blacks pale by comparison.

For example, Mr. Obama has -- from literally his inaugural address onward -- inflated the numbers and, in that way and others, exaggerated the contemporary and historical importance of Muslim-Americans in the United States. In the Speech, he used the Brotherhood's estimates of "nearly 7 million Muslims" in this country, at least twice the estimates from other, more reputable sources. (Who knows? By the time Mr. Obama's friends in the radical Association of Community Organizers for Reform Now (ACORN) perpetrate their trademark books-cooking as deputy 2010 census takers, the official count may well claim considerably morethan 7 million Muslims are living here.)

Even more troubling were the commitments the president made in Cairo to promote Islam in America. For instance, he declared: "I consider it part of my responsibility as president of the United States to fight against negative stereotypes of Islam wherever they appear." He vowed to ensure that women can cover their heads, including, presumably, when having their photographs taken for passports, driver's licenses or other identification purposes. He also pledged to enable Muslims to engage in zakat, their faith's requirement for tithing, even though four of the eight types of charity called for by Shariah can be associated with terrorism. Not surprisingly, a number of Islamic "charities" in this country have been convicted of providing material support for terrorism.

Particularly worrying is the realignment Mr. Obama has announced in U.S. policy toward Israel. While he pays lip service to the "unbreakable" bond between America and the Jewish state, the president has unmistakably signaled that he intends to compel the Israelis to make territorial and other strategic concessions to Palestinians to achieve the hallowed two-state solution. In doing so, he ignores the inconvenient fact that both the Brotherhood's Hamas and Abu Mazen's Fatah remain determined to achieve a one-state solution, whereby the Jews will be driven "into the sea."

Whether Mr. Obama actually is a Muslim or simply plays one in the presidency may, in the end, be irrelevant. What is alarming is that in aligning himself and his policies with those of Shariah-adherents such as the Muslim Brotherhood, the president will greatly intensify the already enormous pressure on peaceful, tolerant American Muslims to submit to such forces - and heighten expectations, here and abroad, that the rest of us will do so as well.

Frank J. Gaffney Jr. is president of the Center for Security Policy.

Ken Berwitz

Why should anyone be surprised by this?

The Obama-led Democratic Party shoved the so-called "stimulus package" down our throats by forcing a vote before anyone - including them - got to read it ("Hey, why not?  If there's anything wrong with the bill, we'll just blame it on Bush. Those suckers'll believe anything we tell them").

Now they are trying to shove Sonia Sotomayor down our throats before there is enough time to look at her judicial record.  Here are the particulars, from Connie Hair writing for  The bold print is mine:

Dems Stampede Sotomayor

by  Connie Hair

Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Patrick Leahy (D-Vt.) announced yesterday that the Supreme Court confirmation hearings of Judge Sonia Sotomayor would begin June 13th.  In a typical display of Democratic bipartisanship, Leahy gave no notice of his decision to key Republicans who found out from press reports.

The ranking Republican on the committee, Sen. Jeff Sessions (R-Ala.) objected to the rush to begin hearings for this lifetime appointment.  I believe that's too early, Sessions said.  I don't believe it's necessary.  It's far more important we do this right than we do it quick. It will be the shortest confirmation time of any recent nominee.

Sotomayor has an extensive record of writings and legal opinions, some decisions unpublished that the committee has yet to receive.

I just want to say, Mr. President, first and foremost we are committed to a fair and just hearing but we need to examine the record of 3,500 probably more than 4,000 cases, Sessions said.  In addition she has given a lot of speeches and written law review articles and those need to be analyzed because make no mistake about it, this is the only time, the only opportunity, this Congress and the American people have, to play a role in what would turn out to be a lifetime appointment to the federal bench, of independence and unaccountability for the rest of their life.  So I think it is important we do this thing and we do it right.

See, Democrats have a problem with Ms. Sotomayor.  It seems that the further she is investigated, the more of her racist and sexist opinions are found.  Media like to talk about just one of these instances (from a speech in 2001) -- which most then try to downplay.  But, as chronicled in this blog and elsewhere, Sotomayor has a long history of indicating superiority based on her being Latino generally, Puerto Rican specifically, and female.

Add to that her immensely disturbing associations (La Raza being one of them) and you have someone whose background begs for scrutiny.

But Democrats want to show what suckers they can make of their, I mean what highmindedness they can show their constituencies, by appointing Ms. Sotomayor to a lifetime seat on the Supreme Court.  And if a serious look at her is damaging, they will move heaven and earth to avoid taking that serious look.

Our job, if we decide to take it, is to be a bunch of absolute idiots, perfectly willing to take whatever Obama, Leahy and their cohorts shovel at us.  We're supposed to either support, or at least be indifferent, to a serial racist and sexist being appointed to the United States Supreme Court.

Is that what you are?  I hope not.  But make no mistake, it is what you're being asked to be.

Please remember who is doing the asking next election day.

PMW Bulletin Ambulances misused for military purposes by Hamas

Hamas converts 46 ambulances to military vehicles, misusing humanitarian aid
by Itamar Marcus and Barbara Crook
Palestinian Media Watch:

PMW has documented the repeated use of foreign funding by both the PA and
Hamas for terror and glorification of terror. The following is another case
of well intended humanitarian assistance given to Palestinians that is
appropriated for military or terror purposes:

"The [Palestinian] Health Ministry stated yesterday that Hamas militias had
raided 46 ambulances, donated by Arab states during the recent aggression on
the Gaza Strip, of the medical equipment that they contained... and used
them as military vehicles to arrest civilians, after painting [the
ambulances] black.

The Ministry's director of public relations and information, Dr. Omar
Nasr... said that the medical equipment removed from the ambulances was
expensive. He demanded that the Hamas militias declare, courageously and
openly, what had become of the thousands of tons of medical equipment which
had been brought into the Gaza Strip as assistance for the Palestinian
people, and which had passed at its [Hamas's] orders to private warehouses
and its own medical centers, and was later sold to the helpless citizen..."

Editor's note: The included link to video footage requires Microsoft Windows Media Player to view.

The United Nations and Red Cross have been providing cover for terrorists literally. And American taxpayers are footing some of the bill.

Last week, an Israeli television station aired footage of armed Arab terrorists in southern Gaza using an ambulance owned and operated by the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees. Palestinian gunmen used the UNRWA emergency vehicle as getaway transportation after murdering six Israeli soldiers in Gaza City on May 11. The footage shows two ambulances with flashing lights pull onto a street. Shots and shouts ring out during the nighttime raid. A gang of militants piles into one of the supposedly neutral ambulances, clearly marked "U.N." with the agency's blue flag flying from the roof, which then speeds away from the scene, a nonprofit global news monitoring service, posted the video (shot by a Reuters TV cameraman) on its website last week. To date, Access Middle East Managing Director Richard Bardenstein in Israel informs me, not a single U.S. television news station has expressed interest in showing the footage to American viewers.

Why should we care? Because since 1950, the United States has provided UNRWA with $2.5 billion in taxpayer subsidies about one-third of the relief agency's total budget. And because instead of investigating this latest black eye-inducing scandal, the United Nations is blasting American troops for defending themselves against such outrageous tactics now being emulated by Iraqi guerrilla warriors sniping at our men and women from ambulances in Fallujah.

These are the people Israel is supposed to forge a peace with.

Just answer my one-word question:  How?

free` I am so sick of my tax dollars going to these evil people. When is the world going to wale up and stop supporting these evil terrorists? (06/10/09)

Ken Berwitz

My wife asked me to drop something off during her lunch break at work.  I of course did what I was told (after 40 years of marriage, even someone like me can learn a thing or two).

On the way back home, I put on the radio and listened to a few minutes of the Rush Limbaugh show.

Now I don't listen to much talk radio.  And for a variety of reasons, I rarely listen to Limbaugh.  So I figured it would be fun to hear how he's handling himself these days.

And, believe me, it was.

Within maybe 10 seconds of my putting him on, he took a call from a detractor.  A guy who, from the sound of his voice, "knew" he would have no problem nailing a dumb right wing oaf like Limbaugh.

His question (paraphrased, as are all the quotes here) was "You're complaining that David Letterman called Sarah Palin names and you called Letterman pathetic.  Well aren't you just as pathetic when you do it?"

Wow!  He got in his comment, every word of it.  Great!  Now he waited for Limbaugh to fold like a broken umbrella.

But, instead, Limbaugh didn't miss a beat.  He asked the detractor to give examples of things he said that were comparable to calling Governor Palin a slut and suggesting her daughter was "knocked up" by Alex Rodriguez at Yankee Stadium (whch is what the unfunny jerk Letterman did).

Game.  Set.  Match.

All the now-flustered detractor could do was raise his voice a notch or two and say "well YOU know you've done this" or words to that effect.  Limbaugh said "Give me an example".  The guy said YOU know that......"  and Limbaugh said "Excuse me, but YOU'RE the one making the accusation.  You're claiming to know I say things like that.  Where's your example?".

Finally Limbaugh just called him a "pea brain" and moved on.  Frankly, he was too kind.

I turned off the radio after Limbaugh started reading a list of similarities between Barack Obama and God.  The first one he mentioned was that "God does not have a birth certificate".

I got out of the car laughing out loud.

Ken Berwitz

Sadly, there are plenty of people eagerly willing to accept any claim of misbehavior by the US, big or small, made by enemy combatants we have captured and detained.

You get the feeling that they think the detainees are a bunch of innocent sweetie-pies, picked up on their way to the local Dairy Queen to get ice cream for the kiddies.

This story, which comes to us from the Associated Press, via John Hinderaker of , is for them:

Never Mind

June 9, 2009 Posted by John at 7:46 PM

Abdulhakim Muhammad, the Muslim convert who murdered a soldier outside an Arkansas military recruiting center, placed a collect phone call to the Associated Press today to tell his story. Prison, apparently, isn't what it used to be.

What Muhammad had to say was mostly predictable--he thinks the killing was justified because it was done "for the sake of Allah." Evidently he didn't get the memo about how Islam is only interested in peace and inventing things like printing and compasses.

What I want to point out, however, comes at the very end of the story. You may recall that Muhammad's lawyer claimed he had become "radicalized" when he was imprisoned in Yemen and tortured by the authorities there. According to Muhammad, his lawyer just made that up:

Last week, Hensley said his client, born Carlos Bledsoe, had been tortured and "radicalized" in a Yemeni prison after entering the country to teach English. He was held there for immigration violations, and Yemeni officials have denied mistreatment.

"Those claims ... are all lies," Muhammad said Tuesday. "That never happened in Yemen. The officials dealt with me in a gentle way."

We've known for a while that al Qaeda members are taught to allege (falsely) that they were tortured in captivity--claims that are usually lapped up by liberals. Perhaps defense lawyers have now concluded that "torture" is an all-purpose defense, to be asserted automatically like a plea of not guilty.

It took a week for this part of the story to surface.  I guess, after the fact, bledsoe/muhammad was convinced that it would be better for him to talk nicely about Yemen.

Now why would anyone worry about whether he insulted powerful people in Yemen?  Gee, let's think about this....

Ken Berwitz

Every time I think the on air "talent" at MSNBC can't sink lower I'm proven wrong.

This time it is Mr. Underachiever himself, Chris Matthews (still third in cable news after all these years) personally insulting Rush Limbaugh, Newt Gingrich and Dick Cheney based on their physical appearance.  You can see the 30 second clip by clicking here, or just read the transcript below:

"It's not too cartoonish to describe Rush Limbaugh as sort of a walrus under water, that's what he talks like, woo woo woo, he's like a drowning walrus the way he talks, and then you've got Newt Gingrich is clearly a...well he looks like Mephistopheles and then this guy well, well, Cheney is a troll, so you've got a troll a walrus and the devil as your cartoon characters.  Can't you guys find more attractive figures that the right might rally to?

Message to Chris Matthews:

-Rush Limbaugh has the most listened to radio show in this country and has been #1 for longer than anyone else in radio history.

-Newt Gingrich was the Speaker of the House and the architect of the Contract With America that catapulted Republicans to a 12 year run as the majority party.

-Dick Cheney was a congressman, secretary of defense, presidential chief of staff and two-time Vice President of the United States.

You, on the other hand, have had your cable talk show for years and years.  Currently, of the three major cable news venues, you come in third to Fox and CNN at 5PM, and are sometimes second/sometimes third to Fox and CNN at 7PM.  In both time slots Fox, in particular, makes mincemeat of you.  Here are the latest data, from last night:
