I'm posting this Associated Press dispatch without comment.  If you need it, you won't agree with what I'd say anyway:.

Muslim inmate sues Missouri jail, claims he was fed pork product

The Associated Press

A Muslim inmate is suing a southwest Missouri jail, claiming the facility's administrators violated his religious rights by feeding him sandwiches with a pork product concealed in them.

Odell M. Edwards, who as a Muslim is not allowed to eat pork, filed his lawsuit against the Greene County Justice Center this past week in U.S. District Court in Springfield. Jail officials maintain that the jelly is made with fruit pectin extracted from plants. Pectin is a natural substance that thickens jams and jellies.

The sandwiches in question were served to Edwards and other Muslim inmates during the holy month of Ramadan. Jail Director C.E. Wells said officials consulted with a Muslim spiritual adviser when planning the Ramadan menu, and the peanut butter and jelly sandwiches were preapproved.

But Edwards said the jelly in the sandwiches contained gelatin, which is often extracted from pig tissue. He appears to be seeking $250,000 per day for the period in which he was served the jelly.

Edwards, a federal prisoner, is awaiting trial in Springfield on drug charges. He's been an inmate since April 2006.

It's not clear whether the court will dismiss the lawsuit as unfounded - which is what happens to many such cases - or allow it to proceed.

Edwards said in a court filing that jail guards told him on Sept. 12 that his meals contained pork and had for some time. Edwards filed a request for remedy with the jail, asking to see the jelly ingredients and demanding a cultured cook or a dietitian that handled Muslim and pork-free foods.

"I would also like to be compensated for the foul act!" he wrote.

Wells sent a written response to Edwards telling the inmate that the jelly contained fruit pectin and not gelatin.

Wells said Edwards didn't just have a problem with the jelly. In his court filing, the inmate also complained that an overabundance of peanut butter in his diet had led to stomach pain and constipation, Wells said.

"It's sad that your only answer to this problem is an unhealthy amount of peanut butter or don't participate in Ramadan," Edwards wrote. "Again it is my duty and right to share in Ramadan but not to be tricked and bullied by an unhealthy diet!"

Eliot Spitzer is the Governor of New York.

He is also an arrogant foul-mouthed, self-righteous tyrant who has no problem running over anyone who tries to stop him.

Earlier this year two of his aides had to resign (excuse me, leave temporarily) because, apparently on his personal orders, they were illegally nosing into Republican State Assembly Majority Leader Joseph Bruno's activities.

Let me show you how it was reported by the New York Times which, it should be noted, strongly supported Spitzer for Governor and rarely has a good word to say about Bruno.  Here are the key excerpts (bold print is mine):.

ALBANY, July 23 Gov. Eliot Spitzers aides, including one of his closest advisers, improperly used the State Police to gather information about the governors chief rival, Joseph L. Bruno, the State Senate majority leader, in an effort to plant a negative story about Mr. Bruno and damage him politically, according to a report on Monday by the attorney generals office.

Darren Dopp, the governors communications director, is accused of concocting a false story for why the information was being gathered.

Spitzer aides, chiefly his communications director, Darren Dopp, concocted a false story for why the information was being gathered, saying the governors office acted after receiving a press request seeking details of Mr. Brunos use of state aircraft, the report said.

Mr. Dopp later made misleading statements about the involvement of the governors office in the effort, the report indicates. The report concludes that Mr. Brunos use of the helicopters on trips that included both political and legislative events was proper.

Minutes after the report was made public, Mr. Spitzer announced he was suspending Mr. Dopp indefinitely without pay. He said he was also dismissing his liaison to the State Police, the assistant secretary for homeland security, William Howard, and moving him to an unspecified job outside the governors office.

The report was a blow to Mr. Spitzer, a former prosecutor who came into office less than seven months ago with a reputation for integrity and who promised to bring a new ethical climate to Albany. .

You might think this would slow Spitzer down a bit.  But if you do, you are wrong.  An "investigation" was conducted in which neither of the two Spitzer confidantes testified, because they refused to and - with Spitzer looming over the investigation (which made it about as independent of him as Hillary is independent of Bill) somehow there was no way to "prove" any laws were broken. But (gasp!) he was reprimanded.  Wowee.

Now, apparently emboldened by getting away with this, Spitzer is acting on his hard-left agenda, the one he has always had.

This time his efforts are being put towards giving legal legitimacy to illegal aliens.  He wants to give them drivers' licenses, which is a ticket to giving them countless other rights and privileges they DO NOT HAVE.  Read all about it in the excerpts below - This time from the Buffalo News.  I am showing you just the first portion so you understand what Spitzer is foisting on New York and the rest of the country.  But I urge you read the entire article at, so you can see just how harebrained and dangerous this attempt to unilaterally circumvent our immigration laws really is.

Please also pay special attention to the paragraph I have put in bold print, which outlines Spitzer's rationale for giving legal status to illegals.  And keep a barf bag handy.

Spitzer license policy under increased heavy fire

Number of critics to governors plan grows as questions continueon insurance costs, terrorism and common sense .

Updated: 10/07/07 7:33 AM

ALBANY Gov. Eliot L. Spitzers new policy that permits illegal immigrants to obtain New York State drivers licenses is an absurd decision that will provide a new gateway for terrorists, a member of the federal commission that investigated the 2001 World Trade Center attacks warns.

Its a perfect formula for al-Qaida. They wont be able to resist it. They will be able to come to New York, said John Lehman, a former secretary of the Navy who served on the 9/11 Commission that warned of the nations vulnerabilities to terrorist strikes.

Lehman joins a growing number of critics of the new Spitzer policy, including two mayors involved in the recovery of the 9/11 attacks Rudy Giuliani and Michael R. Bloomberg and an assortment of law enforcement officials, Republicans and Democrats.

In an interview Saturday with The Buffalo News, Lehman said the state is undermining the many efforts made to improve security in New York City since 2001.

It is not logical, he said of the Spitzer policy, adding: As we know, New York is target number one.

Spitzers plan is going to make life easier for illegals, especially terrorists, counterfeiters and others who will have easy access to a valuable piece of identification, Lehman said.

Lehman also said the policy will put New York at odds with a looming federal identification program recommended by his commission, which noted how valuable identification cards are for terrorists in moving cash and traveling.

Its going to become a magnet to lawbreakers because the surrounding states will adhere to the federal standards, he said. So, New York becomes a sanctuary for al-Qaida and all sorts of other people on the lam.

Conflicting goals

When he announced his new policy, Spitzer said it would make roads safer, get more drivers insured, provide a better accounting of people living in the state and bolster the states security in a post-September 11 world.

But the new policy, set to take effect in December, also includes components that could dissuade undocumented immigrants from rushing to the program. For instance, federal immigration officials could subpoena the states license records to track down illegal aliens, state officials concede..

Got that last part?  Illegals - i.e. people who did not concern themselves with the law to be here in the first place - will magically morph into law abiding citizens who will buy insurance for the cars they are illegally driving.  This will make the roads safer because the illegals will abide by the driving laws if they have the valid driver's license they have no right to have because they ARE illegals.

Thank you Eliot Spitzer.  Until now I never saw a rubik's cube in print.  But there it is.

lf you believe the polls, a large majority of citizens, and specifically New York State citizens, do not want illegals to have valid drivers licenses.  How could they not?

To me, just looking at the words on my computer screen make me wince.

Hey, here's something that Governor Spitzer just might have thought about::  If youhand illegal aliens valid drivers licenses they will be able to use this "legitimacy" to find ways of voting in New York elections.  And because Democrat Eliot Spitzer gave all this to them, illegals will provide a loyal Spitzer/Democratic voting bloc.

Do you really think this is about anything else?

Please read the following excerpt carefully, then link to the littlegreenfootballs. source as well, for the full analysis.  Then wonder why (I say this with near certainty) you have not heard one word about it on the network news and have not read about it in your newspaper or the major newsweeklies:.

Was Haditha an Al Qaeda Propaganda Scheme?

Sun, Oct 7, 2007 at 5:10:24 pm PST

Defend Our Marines points out a Marine Corps intelligence summary on the Haditha murder inquiry, alleging that the incident was a deliberate scheme by Al Qaeda terrorists to demonize the Marines: Al Qaeda In Haditha: The Battle the Media Ignored.

October 6, 2007 Buried in the mountain of exhibits attached to the once secret Haditha, Iraq murder inquiry prepared by US Army Maj. Gen. Eldon A. Bargewell is an obscure Marine Corps intelligence summary (see pdf) that says the deadly encounter was an intentional propaganda ploy planned and paid for by Al Qaeda foreign fighters.

Veteran military defense attorney Gary Meyers said he never understood why the Naval Criminal Investigative Service special agents leading the Haditha criminal investigation didnt examine the linkage between Al Qaeda, the local insurgency and the events at Haditha. Meyers was an attorney on the defense team that successfully defended Justin Sharratt, a Marine infantryman accused of multiple murders at Haditha.

The report apparently overlooked by a Washington press corps awash in leaked Bargewell documents and secret Naval Criminal Investigative Service reports shows that Marine Corps intelligence operatives were advised of the scheme to demonize the Marines by an informant named Muhannad Hassan Hamadi. The informant was snared by 3/1 Marines on December 11 2005 and decided to cooperate.

The attack was carried out by multiple cells of local Wahabi extremists and well-paid local gunmen from Al Asaib al-Iraq [the Clans of the People of Iraq] that were led by Al Qaeda foreign fighters, the summary claims. Their case was bolstered by Marine signal intercepts revealing that the al Qaeda fighters planned to videotape the attacks and exploit the resulting carnage for propaganda purposes.

Eleven insurgents involved in the attack are identified by name and affiliation in the details of the summary. All of them were killed or captured in the days immediately following the Haditha incident.

During the November Haditha battle, the insurgents secreted themselves among local civilians to guarantee pursuing Marines would catch innocent civilians in the ensuing crossfire. On January 6, 2006 six insurgents who tried to do the same thing at another location in Haditha were turned in to Coalition authorities before they could mount a similar assault, the report says. .

Was this, in the final analysis a resourceful strategy by al qaeda that worked - in no small part because the corrupt idiot murtha opened that big mouth of his, media immediately treated him like a hero and others in in congress were too intimidated to challenge him?

I don't know the answer.  But I sure as hell would like to know more about the second event that, it is claimed, was stopped before implementation.  I would like to know how closely it paralleled the events at Haditha.  Because the more similarities there are, the more inclined I am to think the above report is true.

Don't we owe it to our military to look into this as thoroughly as possible?  Don't our MEDIA owe it to them?  Or is it too easy just to go with the flow and ignore anything that departs from their current reporting model?

This is addressed to the people who are not so completely overtaken by partisanship and/or Bush Derangement Syndrome that they can't see what is front of their eyes.

It is not for the LAMBs because, as members of the Lunatic-left And Mega-moonbat Brigade, it is virtually certain that not one word will penetrate.

Here, from is the first-hand account of "plamegate" from Robert Novak, the "source" of the valerie plame "outing"

(The words "source" and outing" are in quotation marks because leftwing columnist David Corn used her name before Novak did - a little something media have studiously avoided talking about - and there was no "outing" because Ms. plame's status as a CIA operative was well known at the time).

The facts are from Novak, the bold print is from me:.

Novak: Wilson did not forcefully object to naming of CIA wife in column
October 06, 2007
Columnist Robert Novak said Saturday Ambassador Joe Wilson did not forcefully object to the naming of his CIA operative wife, Valerie Plame Wilson, when Novak spoke to him prior to the publication of a column that sparked a federal investigation and sent White House aide I. Lewis Scooter Libby to jail.

He was not terribly exercised about it, Novak said.

Instead, Wilson focused on not being portrayed as simply an opponent of the Iraq war. Wilson also stressed that his wife went by his last name, Wilson, rather than Plame, Novak said.

Novak forcefully defended his handling of the column and the legal wrangling that surrounded the special counsel investigation in a seminar on the CIA leak case at the 2007 Society of Professional Journalists Convention.

It was an off-hand remark to a question I asked in an interview I requested, Novak said. This was not a conspiracy in the federal government to go after Valerie Plame Wilson.

Novak said he complied with prosecutor Patrick Fitzgeralds subpoena to testify because his lawyer told him he had no legal grounds to resist, and losing a court fight could erode the legal protections of the press. He noted that, as a syndicated columnist, he had to pay the legal fees himself, to the tune of $160,000. His home newspaper, the Chicago Sun-Times, contributed $30,000, he said.

He was surprised when the questioning began, that he was not pressed on his source. The reason, he said, was that Fitzgerald already knew that it was then Deputy Secretary of State Richard Armitage.

At one point, he recalled, former White House aide Kenneth Duberstein called Novak on Armitages behalf, asking if Armitage was the source.

I said, I cant give you that information, Novak said with a grin.

Novak said his critics, including those in the press, have attacks his ethics, when in fact their quarrel was with his ideology.

I was stunned by how little editorial support I received. I was under assault from editorial writers from across the country, Novak said. It is startling how little is known about this case by the people who are commenting on it.

He said his case shows the need for a shield law like the one approved last week by a Senate committee. But he added, Is it not hypocritical for my critics to support a law that would have saved me from three years of confrontation?

When you add Novak's comments to the fact that the 9/11 commission concluded that joseph wilson was a liar, you realize what a phoney-baloney cooked up pile of nothing "plamegate" was.  And you realize just how hated Bush and Republicans must be by our "neutral" press for them to report it to you.

(For a full narrative of just how fraudulent wilson and plame are, therefore just how much media have kept from you, link to

wilson and plame have shamelessly exploited this utter fraud for fame and money.  But mainstream media have shielded them from being seen as the frauds they are.  And, lamentably, I'm betting media will shield them again from most people hearing about Robert Novak's account.

If I'm wrong, you will, by now, have heard/seen all about it in the network news and your newspaper.  Have you?

I rest my case.

It's finally happened.  A shari'a law state has come up with a way to determine which clerics' fatwas are and are not ok.

Read this, but put a pillow on your chest because your jaw is about to drop:.

Official Saudi website for fatwas

Saudi Arabia has launched an official website to publish Islamic legal rulings, or fatwas.

The move is apparently an attempt to ensure that fatwas issued by authorised scholars are given prominence.

Visitors to the new website will be able to ask questions on various topics and get replies from the Council of Senior Ulema (Islamic scholars).

Saudi Arabia is an absolute monarchy governed according to a conservative interpretation of Islamic Sharia law.

'Fatwa chaos'

A section of the Saudi site is devoted to the former head of the council, Sheikh Abdul Aziz bin Baz.

Sheikh bin Baz, who died in 1999, was known for issuing controversial religious rulings.

In 1991, he issued a fatwa prohibiting women from driving cars.

The religious establishment in Egypt has been considering a similar move to publicise official fatwas.

Last month, the head of Egypt's prestigious Al-Azhar University, Ahmed al-Tayeb, said he wanted to establish a satellite TV station dedicated to broadcasting authorised rulings.

The situation at present, he said, was fatwa chaos, with Muslim scholars issuing rulings that clash with the official line of the religious establishment, spreading confusion. .

What a great idea.  Since every "cleric" and his brother (no sisters, not in this bunch) is issuing fatwas, and since they often collide with each other in their interpretation of the Koran, the Saudis will now put up an official position on which fatwas are acceptable, thus which are not.

And, baby, you better accept the ones they like.  It isn't healthy not to, if you know what I mean.

What do you figure happens to a "cleric" who issues a fatwa that competes with the official fatwas?  I don't know, but I have a feeling I wouldn't want to be the guy who does it.

If we do not fight radical islam successfully, this is what will take over the world, folks.  How do you like it?
