TWO OUT OF THREE AIN'T BAD

Ken Berwitz

The title of my blog is also the title of a best-selling song by Meat Loaf (real name:  Marvin Lee Aday).  Since Meat Loaf is such a tremendous baseball fan, I thought I would use his title to make a point about this remarkably momentous weekend in the sport.

Two huge milestones have already been accomplished:  Yesterday Alex Rodriguez hit his 500th home run - he is the youngest man ever to do so - and barry bonds hit his 755th, which ties Hank Aaron for the all time record.  Today, John Glavine is going for his 300th win.

Alex Rodriguez is a fabulously talented ballplayer, who has never been accused of augmenting his physical talents with steroids or other drugs.

John Glavine is a fabulously talented ballplayer who has never been accused of augmenting his physical talents with steroids or other drugs.

barry bonds is a fabulously talented ballplayer who apparently decided to supplement his talent with steroids and did so for years.  That turned him into a far more prolific home run hitter than he ever was without them, and is the reason he has tied and will break Hank Aaron's all-time record, which Aaron set without steroids or other drugs.

How great is this weekend in baseball?  Well, if Glavine wins, two out of three ain't bad.

GUEST COMMENTARY: SWEETNESS- LIGHT

Ken Berwitz

This, from www.sweetness-light.com, tells you what major media won't:  It gives you some insight into who Hillary Clinton and other Democratic presidential candidates attending this weekend's daily kos convention are in bed with.

Frankly, you're not supposed to know this.  You're supposed to think that the dailykos and its pals are just some nice folks who might be a tad too "liberal" to be called mainstream.  Well, read this and know better

IMPORTANT:  There are some exceedingly sick pictures shown below.  They are necessary to indicate the full extent of what "kos" is spitting on.  Brace yourself for them..

While They Are Yucking It Up At The Yearly Kos

August 4th, 2007

While our moral superiors are enjoying themselves at the "Yearly Kos Convention":

Democratic presidential hopeful Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton, D-N.Y., enjoys the applause during a breakout session of the Yearly Kos Conventions Presidential Leadership Forum in Chicago, Saturday, Aug. 4, 2007.

Lets pause to remember this brilliant epigram of yesteryear from the great Kos himself:

Mr. Moulitsas was talking about four American "merceneries" [sic] who had been helping to deliver food in Fallujah.

That is, before they were beaten with shovels, burned to death, then mutilated, dragged through the streets and finally hung up on display for their good deeds:

But "screw them."

Right, Hillary?

.

If these were Republican presidential candidates, and they were sucking up to a group whose leader, for example, said "I feel nothing for these people, screw 'em" over lynched civil rights workers, do you think the press would cover for them the way they're covering for Clinton, Obama, Edwards, etc?  Do you doubt that this would be major news?  That it would generate days, maybe weeks, of feature stories to indelibly ingrain this outrage in your mind?

If ever you wanted to see media bias in its rawest, most flagrant form, this is it.  Take a good look.  And don't forget.

Elections in this country are never far away.  Remember who the candidates you could vote for are happy to align themselves with.

WHEELS OF JUSTICE IN THE MOTOR CITY

Ken Berwitz

Anyone who has been stuck behind a driver going 10 miles an hour below the speed limit on a one lane road, knows that being slow and deliberate is not necessarily a good thing.

With that in mind, how would you like to be a defendant in this judge's court?.

Slow-Motion Judge Stripped of Some Duties

DETROIT (AP) - A Wayne County Circuit Court judge accused of working too slowly no longer is allowed to handle pretrial motions.

Judge Deborah Thomas also faces a complaint that could remove her from the bench.

The court's chief decided to stripped Thomas of the pretrial duty after a three-page rebuke from the court's Docket Review Committee.

The letter says Thomas has the most cases pending, the fewest cases tried and has too many delays.

Thomas has been a circuit judge since 1995. She says there's too much emphasis on processing cases quickly.

The state's Judicial Tenure Commission also is reviewing 27 cases in which Thomas was reversed by appeals courts in the past five years.

.

Slow as refrigerated molasses, and continually wrong anyway.  How's that for a daily double?

But, that said, at least they are DOING something about this judge.  How many are as bad and worse, who no one will ever do anything about?

I did a story a few days ago on another lousy judge,  judge munley.  He is even worse than judge Thomas, but for a very different reason (preventing Hazelton, PA from acting against illegal aliens).

I think I'm going to start doing more blogs about judges that are especially incompetent or unfair.

Sunilight is the greatest disinfectant.  I'm going to start opening some blinds.
