Late last year we found out that patrick fitzgerald knew the leaker of valerie plame's name was Richard Armitage.  We found out that he knew it for THREE YEARS.  But he did not indict Armitage.  Instead, he went on a wild goose chase trying to "get" members of the Bush administration.

Since Armitage, the leaker of plame's name, is not indicted, fitzgerald's investigation could not possibly have been about the leak.  That makes fitzgerald AND his investigation a fraud and a disgrace.

Well, here's what this fraud and disgrace has and has not "accomplished":

-He couldn't demonstrate that valerie plame was legally covert, so no one was indicted for illegally "outting" her (that, folks, should have ended this ridiculous exercise in its tracks);

-He didn't "get" Bush;

-He didn't "get" Cheney;

-He didn't "get" Rove (despite a great many barroom loudmouth types in the media assuring us Rove was dead meat);

-He didn't "get" Rumsfeld;

That leaves Lewis Libby.  And Libby was not charged with anything relating to the outting at all , only that he lied about who he talked to plame about during several gossipy conversations in 2003.  The only way to be convicted for that is for a jury to believe the OTHER parties' accounts of those conversations without any actual proof.

If you were told at the beginning of this fiasco that all fitzgerald would wind up with is Lewis Libby's discussions about a non-covert agent, you'd have laughed until your sides split.  But since that is all that fitzgerald has, the left and the media - ever hopeful they can nail someone from the Bush administration - are going to act as if this is a momentous "victory".

Watch them play their game of "let's pretend".  And know that they're full of baloney;  it isn't even remotely in the ballpark of what they hoped for.

Libby will, of course, appeal this witchhunt, and I hope he prevails.  He has been found guilty of gossiping about someone he was perfectly legal TO gossip about.  Whoop de doo.

Or, President Bush can pardon him.  What does he have to lose?  The love and respect he currently has from the left?  From media?

As the world plays out its "peace process" charade, in which Israel is supposed to create a mutually beneficial settlement with palestinian Arabs, it would be good for you to understand what Israel is actually dealing with.

If you wait for mainstream media - those folks who incessantly reference the "peace process" as if there were such a thing - to report on what I'm about to show you, you'll grow old during your wait.  So, being the nice fellow I am, I thought I'd provide an analysis, courtesy of the indispensible website, "Palestine Media Watch", of what palestinian Arab children are taught.  Remember, these textbooks are not some remnant of years past, they are the CURRENT textbooks being used in schools throughout Gaza and Judea/Samaria (the west bank) and therefore reflect the current thinking of palestinian Arabs.

You can find the entire report, and a wealth of other equally important information that mainstream media decline to give you, at http://www.pmw.org.il/ .  But, in the interest of posting a lot of information in a little space, I am going to reprint an excellent article which gives you a small sampling of the material found in these textbooks:

.PA Textbooks Incite Hatred, US Funds Terror-Center Schools

by Hillel Fendel

(IsraelNN.com) Contrary to the "education for peace" that has been a fundamental demand and principle of the Oslo peace process, new 12th grade schoolbooks in the Palestinian Authority repeatedly reject Israels right to exist, present the current conflict as a religious battle for Islam, and actively portray a picture of the Middle East in which Israel does not exist at all. So finds the Palestinian Media Watch organization.

The PMW report leads with this quote from a language-arts book:
Palestines war ended with a catastrophe that is unprecedented in history,when the Zionist gangs stole Palestine and expelled its people from their cities, their villages, their lands and their houses, and established the State ofIsrael. [Arabic Language, Analysis, Literature and Criticism, grade 12, p. 104 ]

In the same book, on the next page, Palestinian terror against Israel since Israels founding in 1948 is defined as: resistanceacts of most glorious heroism.

Similar findings have been made for years. In 2002, for example, the Center for Monitoring the Impact of Peace, after a comprehensive survey of 58 new Palestinian Authority textbooks and teachers' guides, found that they "do not [educate] to peace and reconciliation with Israel, but rather foster a multi-faceted rejection of its existence."

This, despite the long-running demands for "education to peace" on the part of the PA. Ariel Sharon said in 2001, for example, that Israel's expectations from the Palestinian Authority "lie in three spheres: preventive action against terrorism and the infrastructures of terrorism; cessation of incitement and education for peace; and economic cooperation."

Other excerpts from PA textbooks, according to the PMW report:
Palestine today is a special state with water access to both the Mediterranean and the Red Seas - a situation possible only if Israel does not exist. Similarly, the size of the state of Palestine is said to be more than 10,000 sq. km. - a realistic figure only if Israel does not exist, as Judea, Samaria and Gaza total only 6,220 sq. km. Maps of the region likewise teach children to visualize a world without Israel, as Israel does not appear on any map and its area is marked as Palestine. [Physical Geography and Human Geography, grade 12, p. 105-107]

A book teaching about language states, Palestine will be liberated by its men, its women, its young ones and its elderly. [Arabic Language and the Science of Language, grade 12, p. 44]  The PMW report explains, "Since all of Israel and all its cities are taught to be an 'occupation' of 'Palestine,' and 'Palestine' in all the school books replaces all of Israel, the [above] teaching can only mean that Israels destruction is inevitable.

The PMW reports concludes:
"One of the most meaningful gauges of the ideology and aspirations of a people is the education of its youth. For this reason, the new Palestinian Authority schoolbooks, introduced in the end of 2006 by the PA Ministry of Higher Education apparatus, are a continuation of the tragic disappointment of the earlier books. Instead of seizing the opportunity to educate future generations to live with Israel in peace, the PA schoolbooks glorify terror and teach their children to hate Israel, vilify Israels existence and define the battle with Israel as an uncompromising religious war. Instead of working to minimize the current hate, the new PA curriculum is ingraining it into the next generations consciousness, and packaging the war against Israel as existential, mandatory and religious. The new PA schoolbooks are guaranteeing that the next generation will grow up seeing Israel as an illegitimate enemy to be hated, fought, and destroyed, rather than as a neighbor to negotiate with and to ultimately live beside in peace."

Funding University Terrorists
Another current PMW report cites Palestinian Authority newspaper articles discussing the activities of student chapters of Hamas and Islamic Jihad at Al Quds University and other PA schools assisted by USAID since 2005. Hamas and Islamic Jihad both are on the U.S. list of terrorist organizations - but not for long, if some Congressmen have their way. As a result of the PMW report, Rep. Nita Lowey, (D-NY), the chairperson of the committee responsible for USAID funding, said, It goes without saying that U.S. taxpayer dollars should absolutely never be used for advocating or honoring terrorist activity. Support for terrorists and terrorism in any shape or form is unacceptable. So reports the Washington Times.

The Times reports that USAID (the U.S. Agency for International Development) has provided more than $140,000 in assistance to the Hamas-controlled Islamic University in Gaza - including scholarships to 49 of its students - since Congress changed the law in 2004 to restrict aid to entities or individuals involved in or advocating terrorist activity.

When you see a sampling of the indoctrination palestinian Arab children are subjected to, it becomes easier to understand why they see Israel as they do.  Here's what is less understandable:

---Why are USA media, which use the term "peace process" second-naturedly, unthinkingly, reflexively, not reporting this kind of information?

--- Where is the basis for any "peace process", when one side does not recognize the existence of the other?  If the extent of the dispute were settlements on the west bank and Gaza, as media like to pretend, that would be one thing.  But palestinian Arabs teach their children that there is no Israel at all.  Not on either bank.  They are taught that not one square inch of Israel exists, not even downtown Tel Aviv.

Israel has spent 40 years trying to GIVE a state to palestinian Arabs.  As I've mentioned in earlier blogs, it is impossible to give the land back to them, because it was not obtained from them.  In the 1967 war, Gaza was won from Egypt and the west bank was won from Jordan.  Therefore, palestinian Arabs, as a political entity, have no claim to any return of land at all.

This being the case, the question then becomes why they would turn down the gift of this land, in return for nothing other than peaceful coexistence.  And the answer, as demonstrated by their textbooks, is crystal-clear.  To accept this land as their state is to accept the fact that Israel's land is NOT their state.

To accept Gaza and the west bank as a state of Palestine is to agree that there is a border where Palestine ends and that the other side of that border is Israel.  Since they do not recognize there is any such thing as Israel, they cannot accept any settlement that commits them to accepting and legitimizing its existence.  THAT is why there has never been a settlement and that is why there is no "peace process"

When you add in the fact that the palestinian authority glorifies suicide/homicide bombers by naming streets, sporting events, etc. after them (which I've also detailed in earlier blogs), there is no question about why peace between Israel and palestinian Arabs is nonexistent.

If you knew this already, good for you.  If you didn't, now you do.  If you didn't know this already and this is the first you've seen and/or heard of this information, then you should be furious at the so-called news media that withhold it from you.
